February 1, 20187 yr Author Cola    absolutely love that ofc, so insane that it managed to become a hit and it still sounds so good Agree entirely, hope this style of music gets big in 2018! Thanks Jeff :D
February 1, 20187 yr great to see Cola and YDKM both top 40 here. Cola wasn't that instant for me even so it getting so big in the chart was a very nice surprise. And YDKM may be one of the best songs ever

It hit me instantly, the tune being something I crave in a song nowadays and the vocals being on point! Neither have done anything really since this so I hope we get something new from them soon~
February 1, 20187 yr I Don't Mind    that song just hasn't grown old for me, such a brilliant pop track. Thankfully it's now on Spotify too, as is his previous track Will!
February 1, 20187 yr Author #34: Ofenbach ft. Nick Waterhouse - Katchi Ycg5oOSdpPQ Peak: 04 / Month of Peak: November 2017 Ofenbach's Chart History: 2017 04 Katchi (Ofenbach ft. Nick Waterhouse) Nick Waterhouse's Chart History: 2017 04 Katchi (Ofenbach ft. Nick Waterhouse) It's quite ironic that, being the person who initially brought Be Mine to the attention of the forum, I never charted it. That is obviously a mistake, it just took so long to grow that it slipped under my chart radar, although in hindsight it should also have probably been a Top 10 hit. On the other hand, you can't deny that this is WAY better. All the good things about Be Mine were wrapped up into a country-style dance track that was, as the title suggests, very Katchi (:basil:) This is still going strong for me now, and I just wish they could have some success in the UK!
February 1, 20187 yr Author #33: Jack Johnson - My Mind Is For Sale Q3REipDpxNQ Peak: 04 / Month of Peak: November 2017 Jack Johnson's Chart History: 2017 04 My Mind Is For Sale 2017 15 You Can't Control It Now when I first listened to this new Jack Johnson song, after loving his amazing music as a child, I was disappointed. It's completely different to everything I loved from him, but as I carried on listening to this, I began to love it more and more. The lyrics are amazing and stick in your head, and I love it now as much as I did when I first heard it. Plus, who wouldn't listen to a song that's so obviously against Trump? :P
February 1, 20187 yr Author #32: Tal - Slow Down the Flow 5cqK-5NTqqY Peak: 04 / Month of Peak: February 2017 Tal's Chart History: 2017 04 Slow Down the Flow Another artist that's fallen off my radar after this was released, but this is still sounding absolutely amazing! Catchy African vibes mixed in with your typical European pop track makes this stand out from its field! This was very unlucky to only peak at #4, two of the songs above it in its peak week still quite a way off being revealed ;)
February 1, 20187 yr Author #31: Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still pBkHHoOIIn8 Peak: 05 / Month of Peak: October 2017 Portugal. The Man's Chart History: 2017 05 Feel It Still 2017 12 Live In the Moment Now if you need a song to define the term 'slow burner' you've most certainly got one. When I first heard this in May/June I honestly thought absolutely nothing of it. But it stayed with me, and it began to go around in my head. It then started to become big in America which is when I grabbed the bull by the horns and stuck this amazing song into my chart. Despite it only peaking at #5, it's already broken the record for the most weeks in the Top 40 and could do the same for weeks in the Top 100. And obviously I'm delighted this is doing so well officially :D
February 2, 20187 yr Katchi is such a tune  it really is one of those huge European smashes that just never touches the UK tho :( Feel It Still is so good too, so glad it's FINALLY actually becoming a hit lol
February 3, 20187 yr Author great to see Cola and YDKM both top 40 here. Cola wasn't that instant for me even so it getting so big in the chart was a very nice surprise. And YDKM may be one of the best songs ever  Totally agree :D Hope some similar types of music crack the charts this year - thanks Dan! I Don't Mind    that song just hasn't grown old for me, such a brilliant pop track. Thankfully it's now on Spotify too, as is his previous track Will! Yeah I saw! It was really annoying at the time, trying to find time to listen to it :P Thanks Joseph! Katchi is such a tune  it really is one of those huge European smashes that just never touches the UK tho :( Feel It Still is so good too, so glad it's FINALLY actually becoming a hit lol Looking forward to seeing the complete chart run of Feel It Still  Thanks Jeff!
February 4, 20187 yr Author #30: Sabrina Carpenter - Thumbs uAVUl0cAKpo Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: March 2017 Sabrina Carpenter's Chart History: 2017 01 Thumbs We lose another #1 now after the quick elimination of a ton of non-#1s. I avoided this track initially since I wasn't really a massive fan of Sabrina, and I initially thought that 'thumbs' was some sort of weird innuendo  But I am so glad I gave it a chance. The groovy swing beat in the chorus is amazing and a real seller for this song, but what pushed it up to my #1 were the lyrics. All of them are really well thought out, and the line 'the bank robbed the people so the people rob the bank' I think is genius in particular  And she hasn't released anything that great since so she's most definitely a one-hit wonder for now. #1 Ranking #18: Sabrina Carpenter - Thumbs #19: CamelPhat & Elderbrook - Cola #20: Breathe Carolina & Flatdisk - Hotel #21: The Knocks & Captain Cuts - House Party #22: Martin Jensen - Solo Dance #23: Disciples - On My Mind #24: Kah-Lo - Fasta #25: Lost Frequencies ft. February 4, 20187 yr Author #29: Vigiland - Friday Night qGf6QFB_rEI Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: March 2017 Vigiland's Chart History: 2017 01 Friday Night Next up is the only BJSC song this year to reach #1 in my Personal Charts (although there is another BJSC entry still to come). I had heard Pong Dance before, but hadn't really been that taken by it. This, on the other hand, was a different story. The beat is nice, but this was another song where the lyrics really stole the show for me. Whilst there is of course some comedy in this, it's basically about not judging someone just because they seem a bit nerdy or different. I had this song in my head for months. #1 Ranking #17: Vigiland - Friday Night #18: Sabrina Carpenter - Thumbs #19: CamelPhat & Elderbrook - Cola #20: Breathe Carolina & Flatdisk - Hotel #21: The Knocks & Captain Cuts - House Party #22: Martin Jensen - Solo Dance #23: Disciples - On My Mind #24: Kah-Lo - Fasta #25: Lost Frequencies ft. DJ Snake & Elliphant) Elliphant's Chart History: 2017 01 Good Day (Yellow Claw ft. DJ Snake & Elliphant) This also took quite a while to grow! I think that's because the drop is really ultra-generic and bland, and that's the only bit I'd really heard of it. I did catch the bridge sometimes, and that began to go round in my head, so I added it to my list. It was then I discovered the amazing part of the song, which was the verses. The lyrics are pretty quirky which always puts a song up in my books, and the 80s-style beat was great as well. By far the best thing any of these artist have put their name to. #1 Ranking #16: Yellow Claw ft. Despite only having one line, it's insanely catchy and gets stuck in your head for hours. I'm waiting for him to release some more non-remix music and just wish he was still a chart force :(
February 4, 20187 yr Good Day :wub  such a tune, and so different for Yellow Claw but it works so well :o

Paije) I heard this in a Youtube music contest I hosted (this was the song which eventually won), and it struck a chord with me instantly. The melody and the drop are both amazing, but this track took a bit longer to grow to become a #1 contender. Unfortunately its chart run was cut short by the new format, and nothing since has struck a major chord for me, but his newest is growing! #1 Ranking #15: Don Diablo - Save a Little Love #16: Yellow Claw ft. It would most certainly have had a longer run in my new format ;) Edited February 7, 20187 yr by PeteFromLeeds
February 7, 20187 yr Author #24: SunStroke Project - Hey Mamma mvaLAs9cex4 Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: May 2017 SunStroke Project's Chart History: 2017 01 Hey Mamma 2017 16 Sun Gets Down Whilst last year's Eurovision was fairly disappointing, this was by far the standout track. Typical Eurovision-y vocals, lyrics that don't make sense and a guy pretending to play the saxophone for three minutes - who could ask for more? This still remains really catchy, even if their follow up wasn't anywhere near as good :( The fact this had almost exactly the same chorus as Jonas Blue's Mama, which was released the same week as Eurovision was on, was... interesting :P #1 Ranking #14: SunStroke Project - Hey Mamma #15: Don Diablo - Save a Little Love #16: Yellow Claw ft.
