October 27, 200618 yr Ironic that this topic is in the indie forum when the kooks are on virgin. Not alot of people know that! The singer is a t*** for acting like they are a too cool for (stage) school indie band. <_<
October 27, 200618 yr Releasing six singles off one album is ludicrous. 15 years ago they'd have been criticised heavily if they dared release a fourth single off one album. Also, can PR people stop over-using the word 'swagger' please?
October 27, 200618 yr Ironic that this topic is in the indie forum when the kooks are on virgin. Not alot of people know that! and even more ironic that Katie Melua is said to be one of the bigest independent selling artists of the past few years http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7a/Km1.jpg $h!t records tho  The singer is a t*** for acting like they are a too cool for (stage) school indie band. <_<
October 27, 200618 yr Well, six singles is fine if the first few didn't exactly set the charts alight. The last single went top 10 and the album is still selling strongly, of course they're gonna release another single.
October 28, 200618 yr It's not THAT bad but they should've re-released one of their earlier releases. I can't see this appealing to the target audience that they got with 'She Moves In Her Own Way' and 'Naive' tbh.
October 28, 200618 yr ^ Very true And judging by the mid-weeks, this most likely won't break the top 20.. meaning they've gone back to square one
October 29, 200618 yr ^ Very true And judging by the mid-weeks, this most likely won't break the top 20.. meaning they've gone back to square one I suppose you could say that but arguably it could also be the fact that it's released on a strong week with lots of big contenders or it could be the fact that the album has sold a fair amount too. Either way, it was never going to be as big as 'Naive,' and 'She Moves In Her Own Way,' because it's not a song which is as good.
October 29, 200618 yr Either way, it was never going to be as big as 'Naive,' and 'She Moves In Her Own Way,' because it's not a song which is as good. yeah, i agree, Ooh La is definitely their weakest release so far, and one of the weakest on a good album, imo.
October 30, 200618 yr If anyone does the lottery, look at their singles peaks so far: 5, 7, 12, 20, 28, 35! Worth a punt?
