he mentioned that song Bloom in an interview a while ago: it’s very, very pop. It feels almost like a borderline bubblegum, a little bit. We had so much fun writing it. And then the lyrics – it’s one of the dirtiest songs on the album.

YES @ Bloom, kill me with that double chorus <3

(also love The Good Side too for the record, in all its Sufjan-esque glory)

To be released sometime in August.

From The New York Times:

The reaction to the first three songs from Bloom have been positive — "My My My!" has spent eight weeks near the top of the Billboard Dance Club songs chart — and more songs will roll out over the spring and summer before the album is finally released in August.
Hopefully they end up sticking with that month to release. 8 months on from My My My! is a lot longer than I'd anticipated, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait!
boo at the long wait, guess there will be another single then, maybe the Ariana collab?

Troye performed on stage with Taylor Swift last night and she (!) announced that the album will be released on 31st August. Troye then tweeted the artwork:

I can't help but be underwhelmed by it, it doesn't follow the theme that he's had for this era so far at all.

Also, apparently the album will only have 10 songs on it which at this point is just disappointing.

A 10 track album is fine as long as every track is killer (and judging by what we have so far, it's going good). Camila's album felt perfect at 10 tracks for example! The artwork is underwhelming though and I hope that's not the final cover, he can do much better than that.
I'm wondering if the shot of the back of his head is also one of the album covers? Makes me wonder if there will be a deluxe? I hope so! I'd feel a bit disappointed with 10 tracks seeing as we've already got three of them, and no doubt more will be released over the next 3 months.

I'm happy with a 10 track standard album; "Blue Neighbourhood" was. All killer no filler.

I often find 'deluxe' versions take away from how good an album actually is and I definitely felt this with the "Blue Neighbourhood" deluxe.

I couldn't disagree more! The Blue Neighbourhood deluxe is essential for me and a good chunk of the highlights are actually missed out on the standard. I couldn't imagine not having BITE / DKLA / TOO GOOD / BLUE on the album!

I found the added tracks completely killed the flow of the album. Maybe they sound better individually/at the end, though "Suburbia" is the right track to end with.

Ohhh my! I'd definitely disagree with that sentiment. For me, the deluxe track listing elevated the album to greater heights, and I'd say it flows incredibly well. It's definitely an example of an album where I can happily play it from beginning to end and not feel the need to skip... it feels like a complete body of work in deluxe form.

The first six tracks of the Blue Neighbourhood deluxe = the WILD EP in its entirety/the same order, and the WILD EP is completely flaw free *.* For any of those to be missing is sacrilegious!

The 10-track album is confirmed ("Strawberries and Cigarettes" isn't included if anyone was expecting that), but I'm still wondering if there's going to be a deluxe version though.

1 Seventeen

2 My My My!

3 The Good Side

4 Bloom

5 Postcard (feat. Gordi)

6 Dance To This (feat. Ariana Grande)

7 Plum

8 What A Heavenly Way To Die

9 Lucky Strike

10 Animal

So so hyped for the Ari collab

Really need European dates *.* I guess they won't occur until 2019 though.

A bit "hmm" at the album being 10 tracks when we've already heard three, and no doubt we'll be hearing more over the next 3 months. Hopefully it's all killer no filler!
