I can't imagine who is going to be nominated for best male?
Well why SHOULD he be nominated? Why should he win an award for releasing a song like Rudebox? I can think of 100 better songs in 2006 then that :P
Well I find it funny that most of you think Robbie should get an award for Best Single
I don't. But I was expecting him to be nominated in Best Male category. After all, he was the biggest selling male artist in the UK last year. <_<

We're not talking about Rudebox the single. No one expected that to be nominated for Best single

The ALBUM deserved to be nominated. But these days, unless the majority of the songs on an album all sound extremly similar then it ain't gonna win anything. The Brits only focus on bland music these days cause it sells hugly.

It is beyond a joke that he is'nt nominated for 'Best Male' though, infact the brits have lost the small amount of credibility they had left imo. What other male has achived as much as he has in 2006? He sold more in the UK than any other male, has played to 3.5 MILLION people on his record breaking tour, which was not only the fastest selling tour of 2006 but the biggest as well in the UK. It is just ridiculous that he is'nt nominated for Best Male. I'm dying to see who will be nominated. Obviously James Morrison wil win, but who else will be in the catagory? Chico? FFS

The Brits is officially the biggest joke of an award show there is imo. Well it has been for a while anyway, last year especially was one of the most bland and predictable load of c**p ever and this year looks no different. The only reason i will watch is because of Oasis, the rest will be predictable $h!t and bore me to death no doubt/ -_-

I loved the album personally, but it wasn't showed as a brilliant album to England, thats why it wasn't probally nominated.

Although he SHOULD of been nominated as Best Male.

It makes me wonder, do the organisers of the Brits actually listen to all the albums before making nominations?!

Of course not. They only go by sales and who is the flavour of the month.

For last years awards, Intensive Care was the 3rd best selling album of the year in the UK (1.4m in 2 months) and was the 2005's best selling album in Europe, but it did'nt get nominated. Simply because Robbie had won 15 Brits and they seem to think that is enough, it does'nt matter how much he sells. They seem to only focus on new acts these days that are gone by the year after. -_-

Apperently the Brits have got rid of 'Best Pop' and 'Best Rock catagories.

Wtf?!

I bet it will go all 'Indie' this year

Well maybe they should as for example Girls Aloud are just as 'pop' as Razorlight really

And that'd be a good thing Josh, it's supposed to be an award for people's TALENTS so that's why someone like Robbie should be nominated. I absolutely LOVE them to bits but I don't think Girls Aloud should get an award for example as they mostly just sing and dance to the songs given to them apart from a few given to them.

But if Anastacia had done then maybe she should get a nomination as she writes her material (I think) but anyway over the past couple of years 'Indie' acts (or pop acts as most of them are) have produced the best music and even better it's what they've all wrote themselves and so it's good as far as what we can relate to. I hope the predictable happens with Best British Album as imo Arctic Monkeys deserve that.

I agree Nicky.

Best album will be interesting. There have been a number of great albums this year, mostly non-pop though. Snow Patrol will probebly get it though, I much perfer the Arctic Monkey's album myself.

I think Take That will dominate the awards, although it depends. Best pop act is gone and I definatly don't see them winning best album as there have been loads of better albums this year. They will probebly get 'Best single'.

It is beyond a joke Robbie is'nt up for 'Best Male' though. I am dying to see who is nominated instead of him. Chico I suspect. :puke2:

James Morrison will probebly win. What other males have been big this year?

SURELY Chico won't be nominated

Paolo Nutini is another big male this year and even though his album is the most disappointing comeback album this year The Streets might get a nomination.

God! Remember when they actually brought the 'Best Rock' category in so The Darkness could have another award? Now look where they are

To tell you the truth, 2006 has been a great year, I've got into a lot of Indie type music  And I kinda understand it now, with the whole writing there own songs and playing there own material, which is what the Brits should be about.

But, ditching the pop catagory means that pop acts who do write and produce there own material (take robbie for example), misses out, which is the only unfairness thing I think :P

Well the thing is that the media get it all wrong and have made it so pop is anything from 1999 like Steps or something like Girls Aloud and something like Kaiser Chiefs are 'rock' or even 'Indie' when they're on bloody Polydor  Maybe it shouldn't be ditched, yes but the problem is what's 'pop' and what's 'rock' these days is different depending on what they think. Rock would actually be something like Iron Maiden and Pop is what's popular so Robbie, Razorlight, Girls Aloud and anyone is pop really

Yeah I've always had that same Idea with the whole 90's and pop, as pop is probally still around, but because no one makes songs like Steps/Spice Girls, you can't actually tell which songs are pop or not :P
