Biography

The Pogues are an Irish band from London, formed in 1982 and fronted by Shane MacGowan. The band reached international prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. MacGowan left the band in 1991 due to drinking problems but the band continued first with Joe Strummer and then with Spider Stacy on vocals before breaking up in 1996. The band reformed in late 2001, and has been playing regularly ever since, most notably on the US East Coast around St Patrick's Day and across the UK and Ireland every December. The group has yet to record any new music and, according to Spider Stacy on Pogues.com, has no inclination to do so.

Their politically tinged music was informed by MacGowan and Stacy's punk backgrounds, yet used traditional Irish instruments such as the tin whistle, cittern, mandolin and accordion.

The Pogues were founded in Kings Cross, a district of Central London, in 1982 as Pogue Mahone—pogue mahone being the anglicisation of the Irish póg mo thóin, meaning "kiss my arse". - Wikipedia

What song(s) originally stopped Mariah Carey from getting a #1 with AIWFCIY?

East 17's Stay Another Day

Despise 'Fairytale Of New York' for many many reasons. Cannot understand for the life of me how people like it so much.
Poor NF missing the top 10. Was expecting him to enter the top 10 seeing as he was top 10 on Spotify and iTunes
ffs can NF pls make the top 10
Starting to think that was his last chance
Think they skipped Santa Tell Me probably because Scott played it on his show earlier.

This hasn't stopped them in the past, I think it's poor planning if that's the reason tbh!

I'm quite sure NF will make the top 10 once the Xmas songs die down at the very least, remember it'd be #8 this week without them and it's still gaining on sales!

The BEST Christmas song of all time right here ladies and gentlemen  I'm glad BBC plays the full original version and not the butchered 'edit' which either censors "f*****" or skips that entire section of the song entirely :)

They censored it a few years ago but restored the proper version when lots of people complained.

Biography

Rak-Su is a British band from Watford who won the fourteenth series of ‘’The X Factor’’. The group is made up of friends Ashley Fongo, Jamaal Shurland, Mustafa Rahimtulla and Myles Stephenson. After winning the show they released their winners single, the original song “Dimelo”, which featured Naughty Boy and Wyclef Jean. The song reached number 1 on iTunes within hours of the final, knocking Ed Sheeran’s duet version of his song “Perfect” with Beyonce off the top. Rak-Su held five of the top six positions on the chart over the next day, including other self-penned songs “Mamacita”, “Mona Lisa” and “I’m Feeling You” (their audition song) as well as the original solo version of “Dimelo”.

The group were mentored by Simon Cowell on The X Factor, along with fellow acts Jack & Joel, The Cutkelvins and Sean & Connor Price. They were voted winners of the Prize Fight in week 4 against Grace Davies, leading to a songwriting session with American songwriter Ali Tamposi. They made the final on the weekend of 2nd December 2017, alongside Kevin Davy White and Grace Davies. After the former was eliminated on Saturday’s show, they were in the top two with Grace and finished as the winners with over 50% of the public vote.

Their winners single was added to streaming services as well as being available for download immediately after the final, with profits going towards the charities Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase. It placed at number 46 on the Official Singles Chart Update the day after the final.

Four of their songs topped the iTunes chart during their run on the X Factor -“Mamacita”, “Dimelo”, “Mona Lisa” and “I’m Feeling You” - but were ineligible for the Official Chart and were not available on streaming services at that time. - Wikipedia

I still think it's disgusting personally, no matter what lazy defence is used against it being used.

Biography

Rita Sahatçiu Ora (born Rita Sahatçiu; 26 November 1990) is a British singer and actress. She rose to prominence in February 2012 when she was featured on DJ Fresh's single "Hot Right Now", which reached number one in the UK. Her debut studio album, Ora, released in August 2012, debuted at number one in the United Kingdom. The album contained the UK number-one singles "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)". Ora was the artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012, with three consecutive singles reaching the top position.

In 2014, her single "I Will Never Let You Down" became her fourth UK number one, and she featured on Iggy Azalea's single "Black Widow", which reached the top five in the UK and the US. In January 2014, Adidas announced a designer collaboration with Ora for their brand, Adidas Originals. In 2015, Ora became a coach on the fourth series of The Voice UK and, later that year, a judge on the twelfth series of The X Factor. - Wikipedia

'Dimelo' isn't a bad song, but the production on it sounds so off / demo like.

At least they’re holding up better than Louisa and Matt

It sounds kinda like they just recorded the live version and edited it (very poorly) to remove extra sounds from the performance. It's holding up quite well all things considered but would probably be doing better if it was an actual studio-sounding version

Dimelo is such a bop, I just wish they'd put more effort into mastering it!
