I never actually noticed how tragic the Eastenders ratings were, Hollyoaks really are edging closer and closer especially with E4 added I to the equation!

EE is doing bad but I think that's a bit of a stretch considering Hollyoaks is lucky to get 1.5 million with both showings added together  I'm not sure what can be done with EE tbh, it's not even been bad lately but the ratings are just going down and down. Emmerdale is pretty universally considered to be horrendous atm but that's doing well!!

Eastenders has improved in some ways but it's still very much treading water. Going from 'bad' to 'not bad' isn't going to bring viewers back. It needs to consistently have talking points, have solid promo and engaging social media interaction - all things that Corrie and Emmerdale have.
The EE rating tonight I think could be closer to the 3m rather than the 4m, it’s up against Love Island and airing at 21:10!

I've seen nothing but praise for the Charity storyline tbh, Emmerdale gets a lot of love from what I've seen so I don't think it's even close to being "horrendous" for most of its viewers! There's absolutely no competition between Corrie/Emmerdale and EE, the former two are tackling current, relevant issues head on with top notch actors and likeable characters, while EastEnders are treading water with irrelevant storylines and unlikeable characters. They need a huge refresh and I honestly don't think it'd be too difficult, they managed it perfectly with the Shakil storyline! They just need to keep it up.

Apart from that I've heard a lot of criticism of the dreadful way they handled the acid attack with it being turned into the person organizing the attack having a sick love story from it, characters like Dan being focused on, pandering to certain fanbases, far too many kids, endless terrible ''comedy'' scenes, and more. I genuinely don't see how anyone can defend the acid plot. I'm not a regular EE viewer so I can only comment on the last few weeks.
