The series openers have really increased in ratings the past few years; quite remarkable!

If The Halcyon was considered an underperformer, then it doesn't bode well for Next of Kin. Soaps still doing well, with both Corrie and Eastenders receiving 2018 highs and Emmerdale not far off.

January 10, 20187 yr Author I read on Digital Spy that changes are coming to the way BARB produces its data. From March, apparently viewing iPlayer/Hub on any device, not just through TV, will be included in the ratings. I suspect this will help Eastenders the most out of the soaps, probably Hollyoaks too.

ITV soaps going strong but a shame to see Eastenders dip under 6m, especially after such solid ratings previously in the week. The Friday slot is clearly a problem, dragged down by mediocre surrounding ratings and a much healthier ITV.
