January 7, 20187 yr The majority of celebrities will be wearing black tonight in solidarity with the #MeToo movement and anyone who has been affected by it. A nice touch and I'm sure it'll be the focus of the opening monologue too.

Think I have only seen about 4 of these films atm haha. But, due to there being so many categories, I feel it's a bit more predictable to choose certain winners etc.. but we shall see! :o *ends up getting one prediction correct* :')
January 7, 20187 yr Drama Picture: Call Me By Your Name - Will win Dunkirk - Should win The Post The Shape Of Water Three Billboards Drama Actress: All The Money In The World - Michelle Williams Molly's Game - Jessica Chastain Shape Of Water - Sally Hawkins The Post - Meryl Streep Three Billboards - Frances McDormand Director: All The Money In The World - Ridley Scott Dunkirk - Christopher Nolan The Shape of Water - Guillermo Del Toro The Post - Steven Spielberg Three Billboards - Martin McDonagh Picture - Musical or Comedy: Get Out - Not a comedy but whatevs I, Tonya Lady Bird The Disaster Artist The Greatest Showman Drama Actor: Call Me By Your Name - Timothee Chalamet Darkest Hour - Gary Oldman Phantom Thread - Daniel Day Lewis Roman J. January 7, 20187 yr Author I'm going to watch this live for the first ever time as I have no lessons in the morning so I can afford to be shattered  Just need to find a live stream that works later  I'm really interested to see how the globes shape up this years race: - If Margot wins Actress, this could be the biggest chance she has to become the frontrunner and start winning everything - One of the drama actresses (bar Michelle) finally becoming the lead contender, a bit like how Huppert became the biggest threat to Emma Stone after she beat Portman. - If they award Gary Oldman, he has the Oscar locked considering his history with golden globes. If he doesn't win, and there's quite a big chance of that happening due to already mentioned history with GG, then it will be interesting to see if whoever beats him will become a serious threat to win the Oscar - Best Picture is still an utter mess so wins in picture for any 5 of the drama's/GO/LB/Tonya would be massive buzz boosters - Kaluuya winning Actor would also give him a massive boost in this season - And supporting actor is also interesting af; Dafoe is the frontrunner and if he pulls off the win here I think he'll be unstoppable, Hammer seems like the kind of person Globes would go for and how could GG turn down the chance to get so much publicity for awarding Plummer for his last minute role in ATMITW. And even Rockwell could throw a spoiler in this category as well.
January 7, 20187 yr It's the most open year in a while I think! Out of the main contenders I can see majority of them winning!
January 7, 20187 yr It feels quite a lackluster awards season, I don’t feel like there’s the usual talked about contenders, I’ve not really heard much about the main contenders (aside from Dunkirk ofc)

January 8, 20187 yr Author Natalie's Portman little dig at the director lineup being all males is the moment of the ceremony so far. Queen *.*
January 8, 20187 yr Ahhh I knew I shoulda gone for Allison in Supporting Actress! Haha. :arrr: 'This Is Me' rightfully winning *.* Surprised at snubs for CMBYN and Get Out! Thought they'd win something, at least.
January 8, 20187 yr Omg Three Billboards  If only Call Me By Your Name won something too and I would be complete!!!
January 8, 20187 yr Also, 'Three Billboards...' why is that in Drama? From the trailer that I've seen it seems quite dark humour/comedy? A bit more obvious a comedy than 'Get Out' for example.
