I think Kyle Walker is a decent winner to be honest, purely because he is actually YOUNG. Everyone seems to be pointing to Aguero, but I'm sorry, no one who started the season as a 23 year old with over 200 league appearances (for top teams) and 30 full international caps should be considered to be YPOTY. Walker's had a great season, his breakthrough as a Premier League footballer and a key part of one of the top 6 sides, as well as breaking through to become a full international. To me, that is exactly the type of player that should be winning the award. Who else was nominated? Bale, Chamberlain, Welbeck and Sturridge. I'd have certainly gone for Walker.
The prosecution thought the girl was spiked. Whether she was who knows. But if she can consent to one person having sex then why not the other? The thing that probably got Evans done was he had no business being there. He probably got a bit jealous that his mate had pulled, but whether he raped her I don't personally know. Obviously the jury and the law has found him guilty so her most likely probably did. But for one player to get off and the other to go down - this is where questions need to be asked. Raises questions.

To find someone guilty do you not have to be convinced beyond reasonable doubt? Reading about it it's easy to see how the two verdicts were different, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests that Evans was guilty but the fact they have different stories makes it easy to see why there would be considerable doubt over McDonald.

He was up against Aguero. That should have been no question. He might not be a young player, but he is a far better player, and has had a far better season than Walker. Walker has been OK, but like the rest of Spurs he's been shit since January. I think he's vastly overrated. Speed merchant, who is athletic. His defending is very poor at times and his positioning is awful. He's been at fault for a few goals that I've seen Spurs concede lately. Welbeck and Sturridge have had miles better seasons than him. They may not have played as much, but they've performed on a much more consistent basis. Thought Walker was the 2nd weakest nomination after Chamberlain personally.

Like I said I've not read the cases, but what I've seen on the TV. Why Evans was there I don't know, he had no place. But I find it hard to believe how a jury could find one of them guilty and one of them not guilty. Perhaps they did have considerable doubt, I would have too no doubt. Just think it's a weird case. Ruined his career now certainly though.

Sturridge has had a much worse drop off of form than Walker has, there was no way he's a worse nomination, since Xmas he has one goal and two assists, he's been on the pitch almost 1,000 minutes. Aguero probably should've beat him, but he should never have been nominated in the first place, it's a farce that people who are 24 can be named as young player of the season when they've been around at the top for so long. It should be for an 'emerging' player, of which I'd go for either Walker or Welbeck. The trouble with these awards is that they're voted for in February time, which is why the team of the year has 4 City players, 3 Spurs but only 1 Man Utd.

I don't see why Ched Evans won't play football at a decent level again, perhaps won't go as far as he would've but Lee Hughes killed someone and has made a great living from football since. He'll be out by the beginning of the 14/15 season, it's not long and someone will be desperate.

Surprised the ox was actually nominated as yes when he has played he has done good but to be honest he has only played a couple of games personally surprised Vorm or Krul were not nominated instead.

Heard rumours about sergio ramos looking to move to england for chelsea, man u or man city. does anyone know any truth in this.
Probably bulshit but you never know. Man Utd want a new right back, Chelsea could do with one aswell.
I've heard Man U are going to buy Gaitan from Benfica with Fabio and Macheda going the other way. Could do well
Blackpool to win play offs with blackburn and QPR being relegated. Sheffield wed to gain promotion from league 1.

Championship top six:

01 Reading 89

02 Southampton 88

-----------------------

03 West Ham 86

04 Birmingham 76

05 Blackpool 75

06 Cardiff 75

-----------------------

Possibly the most pointless playoffs ever.

You mean you're conceding defeat already? :P

I'd be far more confident if Brighton had made it :P

Think West Ham will win, but Cardiff will give them a game. I want Cardiff to go up personally!

I really like Chris Houghton. But I hate Birmingham. I think he's done a fantastic job there though, given their circumstances I'm sure most Birmingham suppoters didn't think they'd finish anywhere near the play-offs!

Completely barmy half for some of the games, Swansea already 4-2 up against Wolves and Wigan thrashing Newcastle 4-0. That puts the latter right in the mire, if Chelsea can beat QPR they're back to within a point of 4th.

Don't want any of those four teams to go up, but I hope Fat Sam can still go to watch the boxing with his grandson on play-off final night.

Great end to the season for Forest today, never known such an ovation as the one Adlene Guedioura got, unbelievable player. Long hard summer now, a massive shame most of this team won't be here next season.

Newcastle not scoring let me down for £201.19p :( I had them on both teams to score.
Newcastle have punched well above their weight all season. Been good, but 1/2 of their players will be poached over the summer no doubt. What have Wigan's players been doing for 30 games? They do this every season.
It literally is just that they're now taking chances. They created as many chances (per game) in the first 25 games as they have in the last 10 but now they have confidence infront of goal and are scoring for fun. Moses has come on leaps and bounds over the season and the additions of Maloney and Beausajeur have worked wonders, the formation they play is totally different to anyone else too, it gives them an advantage because teams find it difficult to play against them. In some ways Jean Beausajeur has to be one of the signings of the season.
