I saw them perform in Camden and met all three of them (having only met Annie before) - such sweet, lovely girls with such a great stage presence! Their solo version of 'Bad Vibe' was amazing and I'm sad it couldn't have been used instead, but I understand to get them back in the limelight they needed the features really.

They also performed two new songs - their next single, I believe, 'Why' sounds like an absolute banger  Cannot wait to hear it in full!!

Gosh, are they still trying to make this happen?
I adored Ugly Heart <3

Definitely one of the best pop songs of all time imo.

GRL actually had so much promise :’( Lighthouse is my favourite from them although Ugly Heart is a close second

Who Do You Think Of? was such a bop too but it’s a shame nothing M.O have released since then has been anywhere near as good. They set the bar way too high :P Bad Vibe isn’t bad but its not something I go out of my way to listen to

Gosh, are they still trying to make this happen?

it IS happening, more so than the girlbands that you stan ;o

I'd say this could easily go Silver, I'm hoping Not In Love gets a cert too, that was a bop! They deserve success people, real hard workers with passion!

Yeah I still think it could sneak a week Top 20 and hopefully set up a next single up nicely!

They are such lovely girls - I think there are plenty of times they could have given up but they have continued which I really admire. I'm surprised to see this even do well seeing as 'Not In Love' didn't make Top 40 over a year ago and they're not exactly well known.

Actually Little Mix are very successful :cheer:

Actually Little Mix are very successful :cheer:

the group in your signature however

Yes because Lotto Boyzz and Mr Eazi have had a lot of hits by themselves :’)

We all know that if you’re a generic male rapper, then you don’t need hits to get hits.

I just don’t think it would’ve been a hit without them

The "Go awaaaay. Go away. Go away" hook is what sells the song, which is rapper-less. It's a catchy, good and relevant song. So even if it had just been a M.O song, it'd have been a hit, coz the label push these girls really hard and get playlistings and such for them (on radio and streaming). I doubt people think "ooh this has two male rappers on, I'm going to listen to it", let alone the fact that casual audiences probably won't know who these rappers are.

Had it been Stormzy, Ghetts and J Hus or something then yeah, sure you'd have a valid argument. Not so much this time I'm afraid x

I actually think the features add greater appeal to the song personally. Let's not forget after the group changes it would have been hard for M.O. to get a solo hit. The features were very well chosen, as both Lotto Boyzz and Mr Eazi are upcoming artists who have released very popular songs over the last twelve months. 'No Don' went from a song by unsigned artists to a place on the R1 playlist within six months, propelling the profile of Lotto Boyzz. These type of trajectories are the definition of success for artists like these. Mr Eazi had a big underground hit last year with 'Leg Over' which was remixed and re-released with high profile artists like French Montana and Major Lazer. They add credibility to 'Bad Vibe' and broaden its appeal. It was urban radio that supported this song from the off (video premiere on GRM Daily and instant 1Xtra support) and I would have been surprised if that had happened without the features. Remember Mabel has used Kojo Funds and Not3s on her charting hits, Stefflon Don featured French Montana on 'Hurtin 'Me' and Jorja Smith linked up with Stormzy. None of these artists have charted in the Top 40 with a solo single.

Just because Lotto Boyzz and Mr Eazi haven't had hits (a subjective opinion anyway) it is hard to deny the strategic importance of their feature on this song.

I'd agree that the rappers do help the song. While neither Lotto Boyzz or Mr Eazi are particularly big names, they are "up and coming" artists who stations like Radio 1 and 1xtra would love to support and it shows M.O are on top of the trends. Bad Vibe is of course partially down to them and their brilliant hook too, but I think they may have struggled a bit more if it were a solo song, in terms of getting support.
The names being attached definitely draws in listeners, as does features like Lotto Boyzz and Mr Eazi help the song get interest in less poppy radios and playlists.
