As a new feature in the Chart Forum, I am going to post the No 1's from the past decade, one at a time, and ask you all to vote for what you consider the best one (the numbers after the song titles relate to how long a track was at No 1 for)... Once 1995-2005 have been done, I will do an overall poll, with the Top 2 from each year. I may follow this with either No 1's from the late 80s-mid90s, or albums..

Moving onto 1998 - Celine's Heart went on and on, B*Witched managed to get 3 Number 1s (Denim-tastic!), along with All Saints, Cher had the biggest hit of her career, Geri left the Spice Girls as Robbie turned into a Superstar and Billie Piper popped up from nowhere. Why? - Because she wanted to!

Get voting, and it would be cool if you could post your top No 1 in the thread and maybe explain why you like it so much!

Manic Street Preachers for me, closely followed by Viva Forever and Cornershop.

My Top 3

1 Cher - Believe

2 Madonna - Frozen

3 Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

I voted for Manic Street Preachers :D.

xXx

This is increibly hard - in the end it was between Celine, Madonna, Spice Girls, Manics and Cher, but I chose the Spice Girls with Viva Forever
Interesting that no-one's been brave enough to admit to voting for B*Witched :D :puke2:

Manic Street Preachers- If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next. Great song. A fairly close second is Madonna- Frozen. One of her best I think. Certainly her best single not to come from her '80s heyday.

1998 has one of my least favourite number ones ever though- Gym And Tonic by Spacedust. I also can't believe how popular All Saints' terrible double A side covers of Under The Bridge and Lady Marmalade are.

Anyway, my top 5 number ones of 1998 are:

1) Manic Street Preachers- If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next

2) Madonna- Frozen

3) Run DMC vs Jason Nevins- It's Like That

4) All Saints- Never Ever

5) Aqua- Turn Back Time (underrated I think, because of how ultra cheesy their more famous songs were).

not my fave year for number 1's but i liked th emanic street preachers, celine dion, cornershop and cher ,cher got my vote

wonder what aqua are up to these days

working in MacDonalds if there's any justice ;)
