Not to pile on the bad news or anything, but WLM also looks set to drop out the top 40 after getting hammered by ACR. Might return in the New Year but yikes.

Don't loads of songs do that around Christmas due to the influx of Christmas tunes?

And especially one that is on ACR

Yep. They'd be #24 without Christmas effect, so it's a standard ACR drop, but the point is kinda irrelevant coz xmas songs are in the chart haha.

Hopefully this just sets them up nicely for a healthy climb once the xmas songs fall away!

*falls out the top 100 that week*

Thing is, I don’t know anyone who actually likes WLM and that adds negative points on convincing people to jump on board with the album and then that horrific ‘strip’ song. It felt like a death for their career so i’m not surprised the albums not holding up. Thankfully their pushing the pop song and new year vouchers will push em up.

Hate to ruin the party here, but streaming is not very good either, actually the real sales are keeping LM5 afloat: it was #20 on streaming last week, way behind Dua Lipa for example. So they NEED a second hit to start new year great because the streaming doesn't get them top 5 after Xmas.

Where's the second single anyway? Touch was smashing already this time two years ago.

I like it. There’s one for you.

Strip wasn’t even a real single. To call it the ‘death of their career’ when the only people who even heard it were mostly just the fans who bought the album is such an overreaction it’s laughable. If Little Mix’s career is over because of their sales than I guess every single active pop act besides Ariana is done for sure.

It spent 9 weeks top 10. Plenty of people liked it.

Ahhh that makes a lot more sense. And yes, it probably is!

Also, I've just noticed that Little Mix are the only albums in the top 10 that doesn’t have a hit. The rest are all album artists.

?

01 The Greatest Showman : This Is Me

02 George Ezra : Shotgun and Paradise

'Think About Us' will probably perform as 'Love Me Like You'/'No More Sad Songs', 'Monster In Me' has the potential to be as big as 'Secret Love Song' and 'Wasabi' is definately the 'Power' of the album, hopefully if that does better we could expect a 'Forget You Not' release. I'm also expected the latter two to include feature single versions or single mixes/remasters. I don't think RCA are as afraid of fifth singles and doing so gives the album a better chance at staying afloat.

Yeah but Buble - Love, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard, Take That, Carpenters, BR soundtrack etc are all albums with no real big recent hits. In fact not many in the whole top 20.

I like it . As did a lot of people hence why it spent a long time in the top 10 . God it’s so negative in here the way some of you are carrying on it’s like there badly flopping when there not in the slightest  .

I def over reacted a lil initially, but I was just stunned that they aren't likely to re enter the top 10 this week after being so sure they would.

I think, obviously not in a currently ideal place, but hopefully they're in a nice place to rebound after the Christmas rush etc.. and although it's underperforming to their usual standards, I'm still quite content with it's run atm. I'm not gonna start fretting properly until it's out the top 40 by the end of January in all honesty

They need to get TAU sent to UK radio as early as 1st or 2nd week of Jan. And just go with it. It'll be a hit of some sort I'm sure (like I said elsewhere, I'm actually surprised it's still top 100 on iTunes) that kinda tells me that with airplay it can def become a hit for them, if the one performance of the song 3 nights ago (when songs typically fall fast after a promo performance) is keeping it afloat.

LM, Jess and George are literally the only 3 artists who are contemporary and still getting top 40 hits inside the entire top 20 midweeks (and not soundtracking hugely successful movies)

They're definitely fine for now and yeah, I just think it's the rapid decline in albums in general that's killing it mostly (they really need to change their streaming rule for albums I think). I genuinely don't think there's a cause for alarm just yet. If it somehow manages to completely fall away with a single on the radio in January, then sure go ahead. But the album format is dying. The numbers in general for albums atm for this time of year are atrocious all around (so sales are irrelevant). They're doing well for the act that they are in a sea of Christmas fodder in todays chart climate.

(All IMO ofc please dont attack x)

Queen might not be contemporary in traditional sense, but they have been the most streamed group this fall, it's not just old people that's listening to them, in fact, George Ezra might attract old people more lol.

Edit: Oh you separated soundtracks, but still.

The girls are posting a lot of teasers for what appears to be the Joan Of Arc video on Instagram, could that be the next single or is it just a promo video?

I thought the same - I just want to see the bloody video either way!

They didn’t record a full video for it sadly. Just snippets for its promo.
