I’ll reserve judgement for now, but after a few listens I really like Pray. A new take on one of my favourite songs.

 

I imagine Sure will be rearranged into the Swing version, but trying to think how they’ll do others. Wonder if Rob re-recorded Could it Be Magic and Everything Changes

Purely from the Robbie side I did catch a tiny bit of one of his live insta's. He gave a bit of a convoluted answer where I thought he meant that he was on the existing old 90s songs but not the new. That disappointed me as an RW fan because selfishly I wanted a new version of say Shine or RTW with him singing with them. I don't think that is going to happen though.

 

Good for TT for doing something different with the songs though. I like it when sounds get jiggled about. It can produce a whole different interpretation of the song which is great. :)

Any predictions for the setlist?

27 tracks, 3 of which are new meaning 24 older. I'm guessing 12 and 12 1st phase and reunion. It'll be interesting the 12 picked for the second half.

 

disc 1: probably all 8 #1's plus Love Ain't Here, Takes A Minute, Could It be Magic and A Million Love Songs. Why Can't I Wake Up With You dropped?

 

disc 2: the 4 UK #1's plus Rule, Said It All and the Flood, the 4 other top 20 singles plus 1 other? Unless I'd Wait For Life is dropped also favour of another top 40 track, of which they have had two Kidz and Cry.

 

I feel bad for the foreign TT fans as they were hyped up with flag emojis and promises of a tour finally on their continent only for the announcement of ..... the UK and ....... Europe. If they are still working it out should have told the fans as much. I mean can you imagine how devastating the announcement must have been?

 

No wonder so many aren't happy.

They may go for some of the singles of three and progress that flopped to try and see if people will take interest in the songs in this style.

Apparently they're doing a song for the M&S Christmas ad this year, I think that could be included (like how Elbow had Golden Slumbers on their Greatest Hits album last year).

Its so hard to call how this Greatest Hits will sell. Im hoping it will do well over Christmas and if they do promotion on tv shows etc it could manage double platinum.

Releasing pre-sale tickets if you buy the album is a good idea as well - I know a lot of people who have done to get the tickets.

Would have liked to have a single release, but I guess they’ll just be doing medleys to promote the record

Greatest Hits chart in the normal way.

I'm not 100% sure if TT will go to #1, as Mumford & Sons album is out the same day. I hope so though, but Mumford's sales albums are usually huge.

If Take That promote strongly they would at the least be in with a shot of making Number 1.

I may be amongst the few that actually love the new version of Pray and prefer it to the original. The beat is so catchy and modern and the lyrics are really highlighted by the new arrangement. I never really got into Pray until this new version, cause I found it a bit shallow and boyband-ish. Now, I am in love with it. I am really looking forward to the whole album, contrary to what I was expecting to feel.

I completely agree with you Milly, I've never been a fan of the very 90s sounding production on the old songs, and I love the new version.

I find that beat so sultry and sexy.....it gives me feelings the original never did. And my sister loves it too and she never liked Pray.
