Posted October 24, 200619 yr McFly to topple My Chemical Romance Source; Music Week McFly are poised to replace My Chemical Romance at the top of the singles chart this week, after early sales reports indicate Star Girl (Island) is outselling all comers since its release yesterday. Girls Aloud’s much-fancied Something Kinda Ooooh (Fascination) looks destined to settle for the runner-up slot, with stiff competition from Fedde Le Grand’s Put Your Hands Up For Detroit (Data), which rises from last week’s position of 79 to three. Beyonce’s Irreplaceable (Columbia) and The View’s Superstar Tradesman (1965) both rise into the Top 10, with Amy Winehouse’s Rehab (Island) and The Magic Number’s Take A Chance (Heavenly) fighting to break into the upper tier. Other likely Top 30 entries will come from The Kooks (Virgin), The Long Blondes (Rough Trade), The Raconteurs (XL), Rihanna (Def Jam) and Bodyrox feat. Luciana (UMTV). A wealth of new entries in the album chart Top Ten is set to give the market a 22% boost, with new entries from John Legend (Columbia), Rod Stewart (J), Meat Loaf (Mercury), My Chemical Romance (Warner Bros) all being pipped by Robbie Williams, whose Rudebox (Chrysalis), sold 20,000 copies more than its nearest rival on its release yesterday. The Ordinary Boys’ How To Get Everything You Ever Wanted (B-Unique/Polydor) will narrowly miss out on a Top 10 placing, while albums from Pet Shop Boys (Parlophone), Meat Loaf’s Best Of (Sony TV/Virgin) and Elaine Paige (UMTV/W14) will settle for entries outside the Top 40. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Singles 01 McFly - Star Girl *New Entry* 02 Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh *Climber* 03 Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit *Climber* Top 5 Beyonce - Irreplaceable *Climber* Top 10 The View - Superstar Tradesman *Climber* Top 15 Amy Winehouse - Rehab *Climber* Magic Numbers - Take A Chance *New Entry* Cassie - Long Way 2 Go *Climber* Top 20 Kooks - Ooh La *Climber* The Long Blondes - Once and Never Again *New Entry* Top 30 Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldier *New Entry* Rihanna - We Ride *Climber* Bodyrox feat. October 24, 200619 yr oh i really hope McFly isnt number one i have heard reports that they are flying off the shelves ! and they have HMV promotion all week all over the country!
October 24, 200619 yr Personally I think the chart will start like this 1. McFly 2. Girls Aloud 3. Fredde 4. My Chemical Romance 5. Beyonce But the end of the week will look something like this 1. Girls Aloud 2. Fredde 3. McFly 4. Beyonce 5. My Chemical Romance 7. Amy Winehouse 9. Cassie 13. Rihanna
October 24, 200619 yr Author I heard McFly have not been added on the Itunes chart yet , I think they will lack download sales, so GA will have a shoe in, only competition they face is Fedde. Album wise Robbie has got it in the bag.

October 24, 200619 yr I wasn't going to look this week, and I still did :( And to make it worse, McFly are #1
October 24, 200619 yr :@ oh god what is wrong with the world?!!! must buy girls aloud single this week. wonder how much they are behind mcfly?
October 24, 200619 yr I think I'm going to buy Girls Aloud's single later ^_^ It's their worst one yet, but they deserve #1 over McFly anyday -_-
October 24, 200619 yr Hope Amy Winehouse can climb into the top 10. Must be the only one on here who doesn't get the GA single not a Mcfly fan either but they're the lesser of 2 evils for me.
October 24, 200619 yr McFly without iTunes sales as well...that's one hell of a fanbase... I'm not sure how close the top 3 are but I'm guessing if it is close, GA or particularly Fedde will overtake...Really awful for Rihanna and The Kooks and Amy Winehouse doesn't seem to have many physical fans...
October 24, 200619 yr I think I'm going to buy Girls Aloud's single later ^_^ It's their worst one yet, but they deserve #1 over McFly anyday -_- Why?
October 24, 200619 yr Why? Simple. Because I think Girls Aloud make better music, and McFly already have too many low-selling number ones.
October 24, 200619 yr McFly will sink next week if they take No.1 this week and with no big releases out next week, GA or Fedde will surely be a climber to No.1??? (assuming one of them doesn't get there by the end of this week) Having said that, Star Girl is their best single since Obviously and would be a more deserving No.1 than Please Please, I'll be OK etc...
