This is February.

Exactly. It came out in December after the leak, hence the delay in playlisting.

A previous poster is correct Lily's label should have just started promo once it's clear the song was leaked and started the campaign in January - strange the songs been playlisted by 1 Xtra last week and radio 1 this - must have an impact date in March, anyway we all know songs can still peak well no matter when they are released now - see Portugal, Craig David & Sigrids recent hits.

Great to see some alternative tracks not stalling in the C List such as The Hunna!! The new Wombats track is their best since Moving to New York for me, loving it!

Strategies are arranged in advance for songs though with record labels, it's easier said than done to move everything forward 2 months. It's not unusual for leaked songs to stick to the impact.
Does anybody know how it works - does the Label have to submit the song for Radio consideration? I think radio (and/or the label) needs to be able to react more swiftly to leaks and early releases. To their credit Radio 2 A-Listed Dancing the week after it leaked.

The labels send out official radio edits along with ant other remixes or versions (i.e non rap edits) to radio with an impact date for the head of music to work with. Normally the track gets sent out to radio at the same time the track goes live on Spotify and iTunes. The only exceptions will be if the likes of Radio 1 has an agreed exclusive first play then they will wait until after that first play has taken place.

It's up to the station to decide if and when they playlist the tracks.
