I hated 'FROOT' so much (but absolutely adore her first 2) :( . I've only listened to it twice. Once coz it was released and again just to see if it really was as disappointing as the first listen seemed to be, to me. I've literally not listened again since release week, I'd imagine.

 

But the other two are seriously good. Extremely surprised by the disdain towards it on here, as I remembered it to be quite a popular/well liked album on here. :(

 

Excited now though. I think that break really helped me miss her more coz I lost interest after 'FROOT' for a bit.

"Electra Heart" is my favourite her album. Especially, "Bubblegum Bitch". Epic pop song with the hilarious lyrics. :wub:

Marina's first 2 albums were excellent and the singles from "FROOT" were good too, particularly the title track. I also liked "Disconnect". I'm looking forward to this.

First and third albums were great. Middle one, less great but still had some good songs.

Like I said, I haven't listened to it since release week (approx) coz I was really disappointed in it. In fact, I might've have listened to it when we did that Marina rate a couple of years back)

 

I DO plan to listen again at some point, coz who knows, I may actually appreciate it more. But I never had any real desire to listen to it again. From what I remember, the structure of the songs were too samey and the hooks (for the most part) were lazy to me and just using one word in a particular rhythm/melody.

Electra heart was the best album followed by the debut album. Half of the last album was good.

Looks like there's a going to be a song called "Superstar" in the album.

Seriously going to be the end of me. Two of my absolute favourite artists!

Her label is throwing an anniversary concert in September so I hope we get new material.

What's it marking the anniversary of?

10th anniversary of the label.

Marina was talking on Clean Bandit's Instagram story yesterday and gave some info about her new album.

 

She said it's her favourite record that she's written and that there are two (loose yet universal) themes running throughout it. She also sang a bit of a new song (apparently called "Handmade Heaven") - listen from 1:17 below:

 

 

I have to say that I really haven't been interested or invested in her as an artist since 'The Family Jewels' but "Baby" has gotten me quite excited to hear what she comes up with next! Listening back to 'Electra Heart' and 'Froot', I definitely slept on her a lot during those campaigns so I'm going to have to make sure I revisit them a bit more to tide myself over for M4.

She muttered to Scott Mills in her interview on the chart show that the first single is coming in January! Not long to wait! And the album should come in summer.
