April 26, 20187 yr I got my hopes up, then read the post. Easy mistake. :) To be fair, it's pretty cool Gabrielle is back and "Show Me" is a nice lead single!
April 26, 20187 yr Great, I'm glad she is coming back. I wonder if this will be handled as a nostalgic comeback like Steps and All Saints recent successful albums (and Lisa Stansfields more floppy comeback!). Or will it be promoted like a 'current' and fully promoted era with singles and radio airplay and promotion etc. Know what I mean guys?
April 28, 20187 yr Oh I do like a bit of Gabrielle. Missed out on Always but Play to win was good and Rise is just such a classic album!! Will look out for this one!
April 28, 20187 yr Pleasant enough new track. Can’t see this doing that well but have liked some of her earlier stuff.
April 28, 20187 yr 'Sunshine' will forever remain my favourite Gabrielle song. What a tune. Missed out on Always. 'Always' houses some of her best songs. 'Heartbreaker', 'Show Me Love' & 'Closure' are all outstanding. Anyhow, here is the gorgeous cover of the upcoming album: Edited April 28, 20187 yr by Voodoo
May 4, 20187 yr The new single is very pleasant! She's doing multi-formats for her album like Kylie did (they're on the same label, BMG) - maybe she could manage Top 10? There's over a three month build up until release! Her studio album peaks: #09 - Gold - Find Your Way #11 - Platinum - Gabrielle #01 - 4x Platinum - Rise #10 - Gold - Play to Win #11 - Always Evidently 'Rise' was a bit of an anomaly in that it was hugely successful studio album for her, but otherwise she was quite consistent with her peaks! Interesting to note that the 'Dreams' single didn't result in a particularly big debut album, whereas the 'Rise' single really did translate into major album sales. Otherwise her most successful album was Dreams Can Come True - Greatest Hits Vol 1 which peaked at #2 and was certified 4x Platinum. My favourite 5 singles: Dreams, If You Ever, Sunshine, Should I Stay, Out of Reach
May 4, 20187 yr Wonderful to see her return as she has released some strong material through the years. I cant see her having huge success but i would like to believe she would do slightly better than the latest release by Lisa Stansfield.
May 4, 20187 yr I'm shocked at those album peaks - I always thought she was a much bigger artist in terms of album sales. "Rise" was obviously huge (and the title track is my favourite track by her) but she was so big in the 90s as well, and I thought had really tapped into the adult market more than those peaks suggest. Though the certifications are decent.
May 7, 20187 yr Rise is such a fab album I adore it! She had some cracking singles deserved more success tbh.
