October 27, 200618 yr Good opening choice with Lauren, and overall it was pretty funny. Funniest bit had to have been when she was translating for her boss to the foreigners... I was in kinks  Sorry I couldn't have posted this reply sooner... bloody internet went down (AGAIN) <_<

October 27, 200618 yr Catherine Tate raises a smile for BBC2 Leigh Holmwood Friday October 27, 2006 MediaGuardian.co.uk BBC2 had a winning evening last night with the first episode in a new series of The Catherine Tate Show pulling in 4.7 million viewers and a new run of Coast premiering with 4 million. The first in a new six-part series of Tate's catchphrase-laden sketch show at 9pm pulled in a share of 21%. It beat the launch of the previous series, which premiered with 3.4 million and a 17% share in July last year. The new series' huge ratings also gave Tate the last laugh over Ricky Gervais, with her show beating last month's launch episode of the second series of Extras - which parodied catchphrase comedy - by 1.2 million viewers. Tate also thrashed its BBC1 rival Ancient Rome - the Rise and Fall of an Empire last night, which could only manage 3 million and a 13.6% share in the same 9pm slot. http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnights/sto...1933318,00.html
October 28, 200618 yr The geordy woman and the translation bit were the only funny parts of the show. I agree, that's the only sketch that actually made me laugh... was quite disappointing overall though, tbh :(

November 3, 200618 yr T'was BRILL once more. Though the new format is quite noticeable now, the longer skits and the lengthening out of scenes. Wasn't sure if it worked too well 1st epi but on viewing of epi #02 it certainly works and keeps the format fresh imho.

November 3, 200618 yr I quite liked the first episode "A fucking squirrel? What a fucking liberty!" I was laughing so much at that, especially when she was yelling at them out of the window. I even found the Geordie sketch humourous actually. The Northern Ireland gay scene was funny as well.
