Vocals are atrocious too.

Not Surie screech levels of bad, but bad.

Not a good song. Sorry. Right song won. Something never heard in Eurovision ebfore, not a trend-chaser by another barbie.

Interesting to see that Netta’s ‘Toy’ is only the 8th most downloaded song of all tracks in Europe on iTunes!

‘Toy’ is the 21st biggest track on iTunes in Europe.

Fuego is 5th

I'm so happy. My top 2 matched the actual top 2. I don't think it ever happened before. On one hand Cyprus is the song I like the most now but Netta definitely needed to have won because it will be a better winner in the long run.

Austria I loved but it was definitely weird to see him and Benji leading the jury vote. :/

How funny it was to see Salvador giving the trophy to Netta though. Ha.

And I heard Netta is quite a diva from some Spanish guys who met her in person here. Quite interesting...

Since I was in eurovision village during the broadcast (and they showed us during the portuguese votes presentation yasssss) it was hard for me to notice the UK stage invasion. I was shocked to see it a few hours after the show.

All in all, eurovision is such a fantastic experience. Seeing all the acts live was amazing. Some of them grew on me so much. Several moments came across so much better in the arena too. The Estonian dress was BREATHTAKING to look at high up from the balconies. The Cyprus smoke tunnel effect was really magical and felt soooo much bigger from the centre of the standing tickets area. Malta's fire pyro effects had such an incredible impact if you stood near that additional passage where they activated the pyro which I did too. Changing of stage lighting at key moments was really impactful sometimes as well and not all edits can show you that.

I want to be able to get the live final tickets next time though lol. All aboard for Israel 2019 yassssss

Over 24 hours later and im still a shocked at Australia polling last in the tele vote, never saw that coming.

I still do not get the tele voting love for Italy, i thought the song was awful but obviously most of the viewers thought the opposite.

Australia coming last on televotes: either because Jessica's vocal was horrendous on the night, or because Europeans strongly disagree with Australia taking part. Or a combination of the two! The amount of comments we still get from people saying "but Australia isn’t in Europe" - you’d think they’d be used to it. And this on a year Israel won!

I quite like the Italian entry though not enough to vote for it. 26th is a good slot if you can make an impact. I’m more astonished it has managed to finish higher than Francesco Gabbani managed last year!!

Where are all the inoffensive last posts of me and Liam?? This section of Buzzjack is run by a far left person which erases people posts if it doesnt go with their views?? Should I contact the Global moderator about whats going on here? Last year he had to put some mods in line. Its a shame

Admin here, global mod last year. What are you talking about? You posted for the first time since 2014 a few days ago and I have never had a problem with the current Eurovision mods. We do not accept outdated offensive sexist views on Buzzjack and I fully support the action Adam has taken.

Did y'all see the antisemitism, or at least anti-Israel comments, against Israel winning, even though they've won TWICE before?? I guess 2018 and the Internet conspiracy theories are to blame  I couldn't believe it. It's a SONG (not singing, youtubers) contest, not a country contest.

Then there were the British people demanding we pull out. Umm the woman we sent was screeching and waving her arms. It wasn't good, and the left wing media commentator was the only good bit. I wonder if he's been reading my BJ posts, as I LITERALLY have been saying war is peace regarding the BBTory for the past couple of weeks now :kink: These people do not buy and or stream our Eurovision entries. Why on earth do they then expect Europe to respect the werrl of the Bretessh perplerrr and vote for it just because some of us selected it? We send outdated cheesy crap. Shoulda sent Legends. BBC should have accepted that Austria song!! We could have been top 5. It's not political. If Israel can win out against the stupid comments people were making, then I'm sure Brexitland can win too. The other country aside from Israel that actually CAN legitimately complain about political voting is Australia. There's a reason we did well with Blue and Andrew Lloyd Webber. And it's NOT because they sent the usual irrelevant Eurovision cheese the BBC and public think Eurovision is all about and then never listen to.

Just catching up on this thread/Eurovish in general:

I'm pleased with Israel winning - it wasn't my favourite song but it has the best message of the English language songs and she killed her performance of it. Very pleased to see Cyprus in the top two as well - my favourite top two since 2015.

I have to echo everyone's surprise at Austria finishing top three  The song wasn't great and just sounded like a dated MOR forgotten 90s song.

I'm gutted for Australia, Finland and Sweden - all in my top five - finishing so low in the televotes. What went wrong for Saara?! :(

Overall it was a great Eurovision for the songs in the final - I don't go back to any of the songs from 2017 apart from the UK's (!) but there are at least 5/6 that I can imagine myself going back to in years to come from this contest.

Voting for the Barbara Dex Award aka Worst Dresser Performer is open! You can vote for Jessica Mauboy here :D

The Cyprus smoke tunnel effect was really magical and felt soooo much bigger from the centre of the standing tickets area.

THIS! I was right in the middle of it in the standing area and it was truly amazing, a humongous swoosh of green lasers and Eleni strutting in. Girl, my weave was SNATCHED. JLo's career was turning in its grave.

Australia was also amazing in the arena. She absolutely filled it with her energy, I was convinced she was going to win it all after that but Europe thought otherwise, sadly.

I think Australia and Finland suffered from going back to back in the running order, coupled with Netta and Eleni dominating the uptempo female vote, it just wasn't meant to be on the night unfortunately.

Eurovision invading UK Spotify!

66. Netta - Toy

106. Eleni Foureira - Fuego

140. Mikolas Josef - Lie to Me

Edit: Those three are all top 200 worldwide, as is Benjamin Ingrosso.

I think that's a fair assessment.

So Jess must've sounded a lot better vocally in the arena on the night?

How about Denmark? Did that seem really rousing there? I felt it came across as flat in both the semi and in the final.

I didn't rate We Got Love at all, to me it was a very naff pop song, but I had goosebumps when she performed it, the energy was so pure and so rousing, she made everyone feel it. Incredible live performer. But I've heard it did not come across like that on TV at all. :(

Denmark was also good, although I've only heard about half of it because there was a little drama with our seating arrangements (missed San Marino completely), but the crowd reaction to it on the recaps was very loud
