My view was blocked by heads at the start of the stage invasion - at first I thought there was a sound error and they'd played some kind of recorded message by mistake over the song, but then I saw the guy get dragged off stage - as mentioned lots of credit for Surie for carrying on and the audience support. It reminded me of Iveta's earpiece failing in the Family final two years ago, causing her obvious distress but the crowd support helping her complete the song! Glad she didn't come completely last and hope one day we can actually match a good performer (as the last few have been) with a good song.

As devastated as I am for Queens Jess and Saara, there were just too many fiesty female pop bangers this year and most people's votes went to Israel and/or Cyprus in that category. Compared to last year when the full scoreboard roughly matched my own choices, this year everything's all over the place...as for Italy being *that* high, the only possible reason for me is that televoters got confused and thought they were voting for Fuego.

I really took to both the top 2 on the night, and while Cyprus would have been an amazing winner, Israel was equally a big moment and a relief after I thought at one terrifying moment it was going to be Sweden. Fuego will go down in history as one of those great Eurovision near-misses and hopefully storm the Eurocharts, but Toy at least is a deserved win and ended the show on a party vibe for the first time in three years. Now I have to work out how the hell I'm meant to get to Israel cheaply next May - at that time of year I fear it's going to be a few hundred at the least!

I cackled so hard at Sweden being so low on the televote

Sorry for the very late post but I watched the ESC Grand Final and it was really great! So far my favourites are Cyprus, Sweden, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Australia, Czechia, Germany, Moldova and Austria - these are the performances that I enjoyed the most. I think the performances of Israel, France, Hungary and UK are just good enough. I love the Portuguese-language music in the opening and interval acts even though they're more like chillout songs. I have no comment about this year's presenters though.

When Austria and Sweden top the jury voting results I was expecting Sweden or Austria to win, but when they actually got their public votes lower I was expecting Israel or Cyprus to win. As the presenters were about to reveal the top 2 public voting results I quickly placed my bets on Israel, and just as I expected Israel officially won this year's Eurovision.

I understand the mixed reactions to Israel's entry among Eurovision fans and Buzzjack posters, but I feel it's OK to have 'bad songs' to win Eurovision as demonstrated in the past years - you don't need to have a 'recipe' to win Eurovision contrary to what other Eurovision fans has said. At least this year's winners song is more upbeat, catchy and fun than last year's. I know 'Toy' got more YouTube views than any other Eurovision entries this year so I think that makes sense for Israel to win.

Congratulations to Netta and her country Israel for having this song (along with her music video and her live performance) go viral on the Internet and eventually ended being a winner for this year's Eurovision. All the other Eurovision participants this year have done their great job to make the Eurovision Song Contest more exciting. Here's hoping for Israel to host the ESC next year.

By my reckoning total sales the next day on itunes UK record purchasers liked (with Finland just outside the top 10)

(1. UK)

2. Cyprus

3. Israel

4. Germany

5. Denmark

6. Ireland

7. Czech republic

8. Australia

9. Sweden

10. Austria

11. Netherlands

So people who vote as usual for more novelty or sentimental entries usually dont bother buying the tracks afterwards:

UK televote:

1. Lithuania

2. Ireland

3. Cyprus

4. Israel

5. Bulgaria

6. Czech republic

7. Moldova

8. Germany

9. Denmark

10. Australia

Dont know Spotify preferences but I would be shocked if it was much different. People vote randomly on the night for the oddest of reasons, but sales are a better reflection of quality and popularity of the SONG.

If the BBC rejected the Austria song they need a kick up the arse. It was better than anything the UK have entered in years (bar one) and shows a complete bias in opting for the usual bouncy pop drivel/dirge-like-ballad because that what they expect UK entries to sound like...

Innovation needed.

condolences to Finland's Saara, so robbed....

Albania, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Malta and San Marino voted for the UK in the televoting. Nice to see a couple of new names amongst the old reliables
Sooo Rybak won semi 2 but finished 15th in the final :o

I believe he’s the first contestant to ever win 3 ESC rounds :P

The Eurovision Grand Finale got a higher UK rating than Britain’s Got Talent for the first time ever!!

Eurovision Grand Finale: 6.9m - 8.07m peak at 23:35!

I also just had a thought.

If Australia won, then would the finale air at like 8am UK time?! :o

They’d have to host in a country within the EBU area. Most likely Germany, UK or France.

There were a lot of boos in the bar I was in when it looked as if Ireland & Australia hadn't given us any points so I imagine most people thought they were the public votes. Glad to see order restored!

Isn't the final on at the same time every year, and it's the host that adapts to that?
