October 28, 200618 yr but like, why don't some labels let NOW have their songs??? does NOW purchase rights for the songs that ARE on the album or no??? or does the label get a portion of sales??? All good questions....
October 28, 200618 yr ohhhhh okay. i thought he was saying that NOW is too good enough to have Shakira on it, so, yea. glad you cleared that up. but like, why don't some labels let NOW have their songs??? does NOW purchase rights for the songs that ARE on the album or no??? or does the label get a portion of sales??? The Now albums are brought out by Virgin/EMI. I'm not sure of the copyright laws at all - so I can't answer your last two questions - but I think the now compilers will be more likely to put artists on the albums who are on Virgin/EMI or their sister labels. Either because they already own the rights or because it means the albums are promoting the artists on their record label and not on rival ones.
October 29, 200618 yr Baby John... watch you words... Terry was not attacking Shakira or something like that (anyway he's free of doing it)... Next time you post... try to avoid being rude... (You're just a newbie...)
October 29, 200618 yr For the record, I love some (not all, admittedly) of Shakira's music, particularly Hips Don't Lie. It is one of the two singles I have bought this year, along with Lordi's Hard Rock Hallejulah. Christina Aguilera has to my knowledge never appeared on a NOW album. I better buy 'Ain't No Other Man' soon. B)

(You're just a newbie...) Again, it was just a missunderstanding and as a human, I believe I'm allowed to have mistakes, don't you think?
