That's so much fresher. I feel like HH could really do more with their turnover and to encourage a more diverse chart... they just don't.

 

They're even worse than Radio 1.

The thing is that "shelf life" of a "hot hit" varies, what we think is ancient (like six weeks old like God Is a Woman) might be very new for some.

 

I took a look at my playlist of hits which I put on almost daily at home, the oldest song on it is Answerphone which was added in May. Most of the additions are from July.

I do think Hot Hits needs a much faster turnover though.

I was just thinking that it's ridiculous to require that for example GIAW should be replaced by Breathin at this stage where the former is still growing on streaming and airplay.

 

Or put Eastside down on playlist just because there's a new track by Marshmello & Bastille

I was more talking about being quicker at removing all the deadwood tracks and allowing more new tracks to be playlisted.

exactly, nobody is asking for eastside to be removed

but tracks like rise, jackie chan, years & years that have been in the HH t10 for ages

Those are not very old either in my books, a bit over 2 months and probably haven't been on the playlist for that long anyway, I mean they're no Perfect or One Kiss

 

But let's say we disagree about this.

Looks as though that Marshmello track will be huge then.

Hopefully Calvin might repeat the start of his chart run with 'One Kiss' and get to #1 in his second week then! Another good tune from him.
