Drake's 'In My Feelings' Tops Billboard Hot 100 for Second Week With Record-Breaking 116.2 Million U.S. Streams

7/23/2018 by Gary Trust

Drake's viral challenge-fueled "In My Feelings" posts a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 28). The song logged 116.2 million U.S. streams in the week ending July 19, according to Nielsen Music, breaking the weekly record held by Baauer's fellow viral hit "Harlem Shake" since 2013.

Plus, "Feelings" marks Drake's 41st career week at No. 1, dating to his first frame on top in 2010, tying him with Rihanna for the most weeks atop the Hot 100 this decade. The song is from Drake's album Scorpion, which tops the Billboard 200 chart for a third week.

As it leads the Hot 100 for a second week, "Feelings," released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, likewise logs a second frame at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, with 116.2 million U.S. streams, up 62 percent, in the week ending July 19. The song's advance continues to be fueled in large part by the "In My Feelings" challenge. On July 10, Instagram comedian Shiggy, the creator of The Shiggy dance craze, which synchs to Drake lyrics, posted a video of Drake performing the routine onstage. Since the dance's inception, such stars as Will Smith, Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson, Kevin Hart and Odell Beckham Jr. along with non-celebrity fans have all taken on the challenge, posting clips incorporating the song's official audio.

"Feelings," which does not yet have an official video, bests Baauer's "Harlem Shake," which was similarly assisted by fan clips featuring portions of the song's audio (and still does not have an official video, only a label-issued clip with its full audio). Here's a look at the songs to log the highest streaming weeks. Notably, Drake boasts 10 of the top 13 such weeks, thanks to "Feelings" and "God's Plan," both from Scorpion.

Biggest Streaming Weeks, According to Nielsen Music

116.2 million, "In My Feelings," Drake, charts dated July 28, 2018

103.1 million, "Harlem Shake," Baauer, March 2, 2013

101.7 million, "God's Plan," Drake, March 3, 2018

97.6 million, "Harlem Shake," Baauer, March 9, 2013

92.8 million, "God's Plan," Drake, March 10, 2018

84.5 million, "Look What You Made Me Do," Taylor Swift, Sept. 16, 2017

83.3 million, "God's Plan," Drake, Feb. 10, 2018

82.4 million, "God's Plan," Drake, Feb. 3, 2018

81.8 million, "God's Plan," Drake, March 17, 2018

79.6 million, "God's Plan," Drake, Feb. 17, 2018

75.5 million, "God's Plan," Drake, Feb. 24, 2018

72.9 million, "God's Plan," Drake, March 24, 2018

71.7 million, "In My Feelings," Drake, July 21, 2018

"Feelings" also spends a second week atop the Digital Song Sales chart, up by 29 percent to 115,000 downloads sold in the week ending July 19. The song is the first to sell at least 100,000 in a week since Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry," which arrived with 100,000 (May 5), and sports the highest weekly sum since his own "Plan" launched with 127,000 (Feb. 3).

On Radio Songs, "Feelings" flies 29-14, surging by 63 percent to 60 million audience impressions, in the week ending July 22. For a second week, the song is the Hot 100's top gainer in streaming, sales and airplay. Reflecting its growth even while atop the Hot 100, "Feelings" is the first title to sweep the honors while No. 1 in back-to-back weeks, and only the second to sport the biggest gains in all three metrics while No. 1 twice at all, after Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring Pharrell and T.I. (June 22 and Aug. 17, 2013).

Drake tallies his 41st career week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, tying Rihanna for the most time on top this decade. He's earned the honor via his six leaders: "Feelings" follows additional Scorpion smash "Nice for What" (eight weeks at No. 1), "Plan" (11), "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla (10, 2016) and his first two toppers as featured on Rihanna hits: "Work" (nine, 2016) and "What's My Name?" (one, 2010).

Here is an updated look at the artists to log the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the 2010s:

41 weeks, Drake

41 weeks, Rihanna

32 weeks, Bruno Mars

26 weeks, Katy Perry

24 weeks, Adele

Among all decades, dating to the Hot 100's Aug. 4, 1958, inception, Drake and Rihanna's 2010s totals tie Usher's 2000s output for the fourth-best single-decade sum. Mariah Carey spent 60 weeks at No. 1 in the 1990s; the Beatles logged 55 weeks at the summit in the '60s; and Boyz II Men totaled 50 weeks on top in the '90s.

Meanwhile, rap songs have now led the Hot 100 for a record-extending 26 consecutive weeks. The streak has comprised Drake's "Plan" (for 11 weeks) and "Nice" (eight); Childish Gambino's "This Is America" (two); Post Malone's "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla $ign (one); XXXTentacion's "Sad!" (one); Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's "I Like It" (one); and Drake's "Feelings" (two).

"Feelings" concurrently tops the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a second week each.

Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's former Hot 100 No. 1 "I Like It" holds at No. 2, while leading Radio Songs for a second week (112.4 million, up 9 percent). "Like" also spends a second week atop the Songs of the Summer chart, which ranks the top-performing titles on the Hot 100 between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The rest of the Hot 100's top five likewise remains in place from last week: Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, holds at its No. 3 high; Drake's "Nice" is steady at No. 4; and Ella Mai's debut hit "Boo'd Up" keeps at its No. 5 peak, while leading the Hot R&B Songs chart for a ninth week and ascending to the Radio Songs top 10 (12-9; 72.8 million, up 5 percent).

Juice WRLD's No. 3-peaking "Lucid Dreams" rises 7-6 on the Hot 100; Post Malone's "Better Now" returns to the top 10 and its highpoint (12-7), after debuting at No. 7 on May 12; Grande's No. 3 hit "Tears" keeps at No. 8; and, Post Malone's "Psycho" stays at No. 9.

Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Drake's "Plan" drops 6-10. The song has spent its first 26 weeks on the chart in the top 10. It's the 11th title in the Hot 100's history to tally at least 26 weeks in the top 10 and the third to spend at least its first 26 weeks on the chart in the region; the two longest-running top 10s both totaled all their frames in the top 10 from their debuts: Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (33 weeks, 2017) and The Chainsmokers' "Closer," featuring Halsey (32 weeks, 2016-17).

Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Ariana Grande launches at No. 11 with "God Is a Woman," the official follow-up single to "Tears" from her album Sweetener, due Aug. 17. Following the July 13 premiere of its official video, "God" starts at No. 4 on Digital Song Sales (42,000) and No. 11 on Streaming Songs (25.1 million). Plus, Taylor Swift's "Delicate" ascends to a new Hot 100 high (15-12), as it hits No. 1 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart, and Tyga's "Taste," featuring Offset, also jumps to its best rank (18-13).

The fact that the two Ocean songs are charting right next to each other and are made up of the exact same amount of characters is amazing

87 ** 87 01 TK Kravitz feat. Jacqueez – Ocean

88 92 78 03 Martin Garrix feat. Khalid – Ocean

Quite amazing that Baauer's streaming record from the very first week (IIRC) that YouTube began counting to the charts was still standing right up until this week! Drake's absolute dominance of that list now tho *_* probably quite a few more weeks yet to come of massive numbers for 'In My Feelings' as well.
