Analysis

 

Yeah Yeah…the album chart has 2 new entries his week…outside the top 10 are a few minor slides, though Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts continues its uphill climb again…Lily Allen and The Pipettes leave the top 10 albums after long runs…Lucie Silvas makes a No.10 debut with her second album The Same Side the follow up to 2004’s Breathe In which debuted at No.1 in my chart…Vanessa Amorosi is on the slide while Nelly Furtado is up a place behind a sticking Shakira…Paolo Nutini and Sandi Thom both slide a couple of places this week as does last week’s No.2 album Radio 1 Live Lounge…Tori Amos climbs into the top 3 with a collection of her greatest hits while Evanescence leave No.1 after 3 weeks in control. Their successor is the new compilation album from website Popjustice which debuts at the top!!!

 

The singles chart has 4 big new entries and a re-entry…New dance hits from Bodyrox and Lo-Rider slide into the foot of the top 20 while Sandi Thom’s 3rd single Lonely Girl is new at No.15!!! Cascada have a re-entry at No.11 with their cover of Savage Garden’s Truly Madly Deeply…Also below the top 10 there are slips (and a non-mover) from Nelly Furtado and Nerina while Westlife feat Delta Goodrem and McFly both drop 3 places out of the top 10…Nylon start the top 10 with Sweet Dreams, their second hit after Losing a Friend while Evanescence’s former No.1 drops to No.9 on its 7th week in the big 10!!! Lucie Silvas doesn’t budge from No.8 while Delta slides to No.7 with Flawed…Take That score an impressive new entry at No.6 with the anthemic Patience…Beyonce stays at No.5 with Irreplaceable while Shakira spends her 22nd week in the top 5 but slides to 4th place…Fedde LeGrand and Girls Aloud both hike to new peaks of No.3 and No.2 respectively but its All Saints who rule the chart once again with Rock Steady on its 3rd week at No.1!!!
