I was out last night, & I spoke to a few friends who I know have bought Robbie albums in the past, yet NONE of them have bought his new album due to "Escapology" & "Intensive Care" being not that special & the challenging title-track has clearly scared them off.

However, I have told them all to go & buy the album as it is a huge improvement on his previous two albums. And they know I'm a bit of a music geek, so they may take up my advice.

But he only sold about 108k by friday [4 days worth of sales] so he had only 2 selling days left [Fri and sat] so it looks about right.

:o I had no idea his sales were that low.

Considering its half term, I'm really surprised by his sales,

What has half term got to do with it?..

For a normal artist the sales are great but because it's Robbie it is shocking. :o

On a positive side it is his 8th #1 album and has sold alot more than the so called "Biggest pop star on the planet" Justin Timberlake did

Seriosuly :o

If it is true then the British public should be ashamed. IC sells 375,000 in the first week and an album which is a million times better only sells 147k

Well, to be honest, the release of it has had a strange strategy. Released weeks after a minor hit single, and just as the new one is beginning to get promotion. That's no way to get big first week sales.

I kinda think they're going for big overall sales with this one though. :P

I do think that figure is correct. It would tally with earlier figures.

We will get offical figures soon though, indeed we normally have them by now. Certiainly up by midday Monday.

You must be joking. Take it worldwide . . . how many albums did JT sell in its first week. NEAR ONE MILLION COPIES!!! I doubt this bloke sold more than 400K in its first week. Even THAT would be a miracle. He's British, duh, he's gonna have strong sales compared to an American singer . . . Worldwide, he's got nothing on JT or Shakira or Christina . . . at least not at the moment. THEIR albums actually have smash singles . . . but urmmm, "Rudebox"???

ye sits disappointing in robbie terms his first week sales for this album but overall it isnt his last few singles havnt done neear as well usual the reviews have been mixed and rudebox was a terrible first single, the sales will prob pick up and well sell consistantly over a long period

Hate to break it to you mate but outside the US (it's only 1 country in case you have'nt noticed) Robbie is a million times bigger than Justin or Xtina. JT's album may have sold near 1 million worlwide but the vast majority was in the US. Xtina's album only sold over 600,000 in it's first week, over half of that being in the US. Robbie's last album sold over 900,000 copies worlwide in it's first week all outside the US. FACT -_-

And also in future get you facts straight. Rudebox was a worldwide smash it and was #1 in loads of countries. It was the second best selling single in all of Europe for a number of weeks and was also the 5th best selling single on the planet at one point and was'nt even released in the US

We don't know the sales of Rudebox worlwide but he looks set to be #1 in over 15 countries around the world so it will most likely sell more than 400K. ^_^

And since this isnt a normal Robbie album and he himself has'nt promoted it and it's only been a year since his last (and JT, Xtina's etc have had over 3 years since their last albums) then you can't honestly expect it to sell as much. Intensive Care sold nearly 7 million worlwide, all outside the USA. Not in a million years can JT sell that amount outside the US :)

Ugh, how dire Baby John as made this thread...

Anyway, does anyone have any idea of where the PopJustice Compilation Album charted? :(

Pop Justice is not in the above chart but I believe it was in the Top60 in the midweeks.

69 1 Alesha Knockdown; Polydor (U)***

What is going to happen with this single, now that it's physical release has been postponed to 06/11 - hence, it surely should have not counted towards the charts, as it is two weeks (not one week) before 06/11.

PS. Christina Aguilera - Hurt has been (wisely) put back a week to 13/11 to avoid the charts single bloodbath that will happen in the week of 06/11.

I have always felt that Alesha and her new single are gonna flop and this proves that it already is becoming a big flop. What has happened to her new single yet it charting on downloads alone is a big disaster and embarrasment for Alesha and her label. Basically I think this delay wrecks any chance of the song doing well. Due to this, it may actually struggle for top 40. Her album is almost certain to be cancelled now and she will be dropped in the next few weeks. I've absoloutely no doubt whatsoever about that.

When was its postponement announced - don't they have to give the OCC notice?

My understanding is that the OCC require 7 days notice.

I saw Alesha's single in HMV yesterday...it is out...
