Thank goodness Anton is out first. He may always get left with the lesser capable dancers but it really does feel like he doesn’t even try with any of his partners - he just tries and make them into a joke as much as possible. It does feel like he’s a bad teacher.

At least they are replacing him this year. Last years 3 judges and all the ties was a joke.

EDIT: Ok I take that back, what a dance *.* She really enjoys it every time and you can see it in every step, I think especially for an energetic dance like a jive that goes such a long way.

 

EDIT2: Incredible standard this week! Seann REALLY stepped it up but that was largely owing to Katya's brilliant choreography, that's exactly what movie week is for. AShley was of course great but Faye totally stole the show! There were points when, had you not known it was Giovanni, you'd have trouble seeing which of them is the pro.

 

I can see Lee, Charles, Katie and maybe Vick in trouble this week.

My favourites this week were Stacey, Sean, Ashley and Faye.

Idk why but so many of these dances were hot messes. Joe’s was so disappointing, I feel like they’re really playing the “omg he’s from the younger generation we should totally give him these!1!1!1!1” angle with him... I’m already tired of it

 

Vick’s dance was surprisingly good!

Contrary to what the judges said, I think Joe is a bit of a one trick pony at the moment :lol: He has the energy for the quicker/more energetic dances and so his Charleston and Jive shone but the American Smooth was just quite flat in comparison. It was a bit more laboured, he clearly wasn't as comfortable and it showed. He may well grow into slower dances as time goes by and he gets better with more training but for now it was a real step back when a good few of them took a step up this week.

 

I'm loving that this series is wide open, Graeme and Seann might be dark horses if their routines weren't just anomalies because they were fun and really shone in a movie week, which I feel is the case for Seann becasue Katya's choreography was just outstanding so it was always going to be good. I'm just so happy for Stacey, 32 is a great breakthrough score after an iffy week last week, it's a big improvement but doesn't put pressure on peaking too soon. At this stage, Stacey, Faye, Joe and potentially Danny and Vick seem like really strong contenders. I'm sure Ashley will make the final but she'll Debbie/Alexandra it, if not Pixie Lott :kink:

Right two have gone first tbh, Lee showed the least improvement in the past 3 weeks of anyone, and that was always going to prove troublesome when he hardly set EE alight and people still don't really like him from CBB :lol:

I actually think Lee should’ve stayed tonight, he was much better in the dance-off which is what it’s meant to be based on. I never thought I’d say this, but I feel sorry for Lee Ryan. ;o

 

So far I can’t take at all to Danny and Amy and Charles and Karen!

I'm not really getting Danny at all either, I thought his Paso was average at best and he was on that bloody podium for half of it :lol:

 

And Charles/Karen just aren't working as a couple, there always seems to be a discord between them that leads to some form of mistake. Of course most couples miss a step or two, but with them it always seems to be something to do with their connection, chemistry and timing as a pair. Whereas with say Faye and Giovanni or Stacey and Kevin or Joe and Dianne you can see they get on and work together, you get none of that with Charles and Karen.

 

Omg at the Karen beef, I think Shirley has been needlessly snippy and harsh this year to a few, there must be something to her and Karen then! I didn't think it was that bad this week though, I think overall the standard was higher and scores more generous (apart from for the ones like Lauren and Joe who undeniably took a step down and deserved their lower scores), Charles was lucky to get what he did tbh!!
