August 20, 20186 yr Author I don't think anybody expects international stars like Beyoncé  Last year was the perfect balance - some wtf names mixed in with some really recognizable names. This year seems really random and just pretty awful if I'm being honest  Edited August 20, 20186 yr by Jαsє
August 20, 20186 yr I don’t personally see how it’s that different to most years - only that it seems to have less BBC stars than usual who are normally the wtf names!! Only Vick Hope really stands out as a random name but maybe that’s Capital trying to push more of its DJs to be actual names. Rev Richard Coles was of course a huge name last year.
August 20, 20186 yr Author I mean a lot of people are talking about what an unknown cast it is this year - I'm never normally one to do that either but I absolutely understand where people are coming from/can see a very clear difference with this lineup compared to previous years
August 20, 20186 yr Author Next celeb confirmed is Lee Ryan. God even this years EE star is a disappointment  Forever hoping Shona does it one day. Edited August 20, 20186 yr by Jαsє
August 20, 20186 yr Author Who were the huge names last year then? Who is referencing huge names?! I'm talking about recognizable names like Ruth Langsford, Debbie McGee, Alexandra Burke. Names from bands who were extremely popular so Molly and Aston, names from big soaps like Davood and Gemma.
August 20, 20186 yr I love Mollie and The Saturdays to bits but when were they ever extremely popular? I actually really like the lineup so far and this really does seem like people needing something to moan about, and Dan Wooton can kindly f*** off back to Lorraine xx Edited August 20, 20186 yr by Andrew.
August 20, 20186 yr Yeah cos PCD, Blue and Steps were nowhere near as popular as JLS and The Saturdays
August 20, 20186 yr I mean Steps at least performed to the whole of Wembley arena without having to drape a black curtain accross half of it.
August 20, 20186 yr Same with Alexandra Burke, she was a bit of a "for the gays" name, I doubt that the general public were that fussed at "her off X Factor who hasn't had a bit in 5 years" (and even then I doubt Elephant was that well remembered). I don't really see the problem with the lineup, it's a good mix of names.
August 20, 20186 yr I mean Steps at least performed to the whole of Wembley arena without having to drape a black curtain accross half of it. Didn’t you hear Vanessa White in I’m A Celeb, they’re a multi platinum band xx
August 20, 20186 yr Author I find it so utterly bizarre that people seem to get riled up over other people finding the lineup to be a total bore/dreadful! But then again I also find it utterly bizarre that people are defending this years lineup in comparison to previous years lineups but it's their opinion so I'm not gonna get defensive about it
August 20, 20186 yr Author I can't FEWKING wait to see Stand-up comedian Seann Walsh and Former England cricketer Graeme Swann and Capital FM presenter Vick Hope! YouTube personality Joe Sugg is kinda the cherry on top tbh EDIT: I FORGOT THE TOTALLY NOT IRRITATING LEE RYAN  Edited August 20, 20186 yr by Jαsє
August 20, 20186 yr Author Sarcasm aside, I guess I understand the poor lineup if literally everyone is turning them down :(
August 20, 20186 yr Author Looks like there’s only one person getting riled up here... ...yeah, and it ain't coming from the person saying it's a shit lineup hen
August 20, 20186 yr To get this thread back on track... Quite excited for Lee Ryan I know he was a twat in CBB but Idk always had a sort of soft spot for him
August 20, 20186 yr I feel like Strictly's the reality show you go to for a bit of fun but it ends up being as melodramatic as the rest with things like Brendan vs. Shirley, Mollie/AJ 'dating' and Aston going  Can't wait for it to start finally *.*
August 20, 20186 yr Author I mean I'm sure I will enjoy the hell out of it once it starts and it's all under way - it's just a tad disappointing I'm not particularly excited about seeing any of them
August 20, 20186 yr It's much less about the line up and more about the actual show as Andrew says, a weakish line up doesn't marr the show as much as say CBB or I'm A Celeb. It's about the partnerships, the shocks, how much each person learns and grows. It might take longer to set in with a weaker line up but I don't see how it's quite as much of an issue as people are making it out to be. I didn't think the "curse" rumours people off would actually be true but perhaps it is and there's nothing they can do if people won't do the show.
