I think this cover is not too bad actually.

It really says something about the current state of music, if the new release I am listening to most today is a girlband from 20 years ago covering a song from 30 years ago

Or actually it says more about me that the music industry itself :w00t:

I guess the video is essentially a trailer for some lesbian chick flick directed by someone I've never heard of:

It was always inevitable with a group that had as a gimmick to wear denim to be honest.

Just been announced today that Sinead is doing Dancing With The Stars Ireland (Irish version of Strictly) starting on RTE One in the new year! I noticed on Edele's Instagram the other day that her and the girls were having a big Skype meeting with - bizarrely, as I didn't know he was their manager now - Chris Herbert and all she's said is they've got a lot of plans for next year.

The podcast is really interesting, I didn't realise that two of them didn't speak for two years :o

It's great that all four of them were able to take part in the latest episode.

It's a shame they couldn't go ahead with their 2020 plans but hopefully when we're over with this pandemic, they can move forward as a band again. Their Champagne or Guiness EP was really good.

Edit: I just listened to the end of the fifth podcast and they said next week they are sharing an unreleased song from their unreleased third album

Edited by Tombo

Its good they are still together and trying to keep things going, i dont know if they can sustain it enough to make an income but hopefully they can especially when they are able to perform again.

So I saw them supporting Blue at The O2 last night. They were brilliant! As well as the old classics, they performed two new songs exclusively: "It's My Birthday" (which Lindsay informed the crowd is going to be their next single in March and that more news will be coming in the new year) and a song called "All The King's Horses".

The former sounded a bit Katy Perry-esque whilst the latter is very much what B*Witched would sound like but in 2022 - obviously a bit of a nursery rhyme reference in there as well like with "C'est La Vie". Next year is incidentally the 25th anniversary since that came out so I'm secretly hoping we'll get a tour of their own to mark the occasion. Would be the perfect hook a la Steps for them to hang a new release off of!

Wow this is great news! I loved B*Witched back in the day. I had their two albums and all singles as well as the EP’s.

Hopefully the 25th anniversary can get them some attention, i think they should try and relaese a greatest hits to celebrate 25 years and it might chart for them, they could add the new songs as a new studio album i cant see doing much for them.

That’d be nice. Some songs from the scrapped third album back in the early 2000’s would be a nice treat.

The other thing I’d like is for them or their team to put all their music videos on their official YouTube. I think we’re missing some.
I was just thinking back about B Witched how quickly it all went wrong for them, they had the dream start with their first 4 singles going number 1 and the debut album did really well going double platinum although maybe the label were hoping for more on the back of 4 number 1 singles. I do remember when they were dropped as i felt like it happened out of the blue and wasnt really expected, i think b witched themselves felt the same and were totally shocked when it happened. I shall be there and jump down not going top 10 was probably a complete disaster in the labels eyes, but the 2nd album didnt do that bad either, them getting dropped just felt very premature.
Yeah pretty much agree with all of this. They started failing out here in Australia after Rollercoaster hit #1. Cest La Ve went top 10, but To You I Be.omg got to #25 and Blame It On The Weatherman just got into the top 50. Jesse Hold On missed the top 50 and I Shall Be .there didn’t even get released here. I can’t recall where Jump Down charted.

It always surprises me too, although I guess it shows how fickle the pop world was back then and how so much can change in the landscape within the space of a few months. I guess 'I Shall Be There' got swallowed up in the Christmas rush and nobody really cared by the time 'Jump Down' came around.

Do you think maybe if they'd returned with something a bit more mature/less tacky than 'Jesse Hold On' it might have put them in a better position?

'Jesse Hold On' wasnt a great choice and yes if they had returned with something stronger and catchier the outcome may have different.
