Posted August 26, 20186 yr Mabel posted on her Instagram that she has an announcement coming on Monday! Hopefully it'll be for her next single, it's been far too long since "Fine Line" was released and while "Ring Ring" has tide me over, it'll be good to hear her on her own again!
August 29, 20186 yr A JLS cover apparently Joke Hot off the press, it's actually a The Saturdays cover.
August 31, 20186 yr This may be a hit, but this is nothing new. My main issue is with the instrumental, which is generic Afropop and this trend is really sounding tired now. While this is far from the worst offender, I think we have now reached landfill-Afropop (and have done since the Spring) and the bubble can't last much longer.

Yeah, I think "Friends" by RAYE doing nothing exemplified that this trend is basically over - I feel as though had it been released at the back end of last year, it would have done considerably better. At this point it just sounds to me as though the triad of RAYE, Mabel and Stefflon Don are all just slight variations of each other, think they need to change up their style to stay in the spotlight.
August 31, 20186 yr ^ I don't think Stefflon's particularly similar to RAYE or Mabel, you can tell that from her mixtape!! This is brilliant, such a chill vibe. What separates Mabel from RAYE is that Mabel actually seems to know what music she wants to make, and she's doing a fine job of bringing the tunes yet building a consistent back catalogue so far. I've enjoyed most of RAYE's singles but it's more inconsistent and feels a bit like "throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks"!
September 8, 20186 yr This is yet another tune, Mabel is the most exciting female artist since Dua for me! RAYE's music just really bores me. I can't stop listening to the ''Cause I'm so choosy, choosy, yeah, yeah Mans say I'm too bougie, bougie, yeah, yeah" part and I don't know why
September 16, 20186 yr Alex Ross has remixed One Shot and I really hope it gets a release. In the same way that James Hype took Fine Line to another level!
