They’re really pushing the concept of gameplay and competitiveness! So exciting, really cannot wait!

It’s nice that I’m going to be able to properly appreciate all three series this year for the first time ever because I’m normally so tired out by the second week of Summer CBB.

Hopefully the housemates picked deliver as I really want the series to do well to give the show a chance of survival, I just hope channel 5 aren't deliberately screwing it over with bad time slots.

Tonight!!! I'm so hyped!

We need a banner on the main page for the launch like we did for the CBB finale :P

Confirmed to have been axed.

At least we got news ahead of the series starting and not once its finished.

Endemol’s statement appears hopeful for it to move elsewhere though! I can’t see where it would fit but let’s see what the future holds and hopefully somewhere does pick it up and hopefully that somewhere actually treats the show with respect.

I’d have loved to have seen them give it another year though to actually allow the show to grow back its audience now they’ve made the right changes. But it also gives it a good reason for somewhere else to pick it up.

If it does get moved I can see it on either MTV or one of ITV's smaller channels - maybe ITVBe even. I hope it does get picked up again though!
Endemol does seem really hopeful so I pray it does. The odds were not in its favour with Ben Frow openly hating the show.

Seemed inevitable that it would be axed unfortunately. It's a shame though, I thought after one of the most talked about celebrity series that they may be a reprieve where it would carry on for one more series.

Thank GOD it's away from this dreadful channel. C5/Ben Frow can ROT. Good luck with your other f***ing appalling reality shows I guess.

I know it's a long shot but I'm PRAYING that Channel 4 take it back.

Endemol sound hopeful so I'm hoping they know something we don't in regards to it coming back elsewhere?

Either way it's gonna be bittersweet watching tonight :( Knowing if things don't work out with other channels/streaming platforms, this really is it

Had this been before the last two great CBBs, I'd probably have thought that the last civillian was a bit of a fluke and it was really going downhill, I said on here a few times too I wouldn't care that much if it did go and perhaps it's time, but it feels like bad timing that it's getting a new lease on life with all the changes they've made. It's not a spent format, it's an innovative one that can continue to evolve

I just don't get it, Ben Frow is an idiot for letting go of what is consistently their highest rated show (or at least up there, I'm sure it's only really the odd Jane McDonald thing that gets more). He said he wants to focus on Channel 5's own shows, yet what they do have is absolute shite, I mean look at that Undercover Girlfriends thing that still only got like 1/3 of BB's ratings despite a lead-in from it, and that Love Island rip-off they had on during civillian last year... He says "own shows" yet they just seem to be worse versions of shows that work as they are, ik they've got The Bachelor coming back too soon. It just seems like they're desperate to conquer that Love Island sort of demographic, yet Love Island does what it does brilliantly, let it do it?! The social experiment angle is a gap in the market and could do really well properly.

I really don't think I'd want it on MTV, I worry that it would devolve back to a mini Geordie Shore and more scripted rather than a social experiment. None of the main channels will want it as whilst the ratings are good for Channel 5, the cost of it for say 2m max viewers is not worth it for the other 4. Tbh I wouldn't be opposed to Netflix or something, if they did the US format they could film it ahead of time like Bake Off or Drag Race even and just air it all in one go after (and maybe have a public vote for the public's fave like Miss Congeniality on Drag Race or America's Favourite on BBUS), or upload it a few times a week (BBUS only has 3 episodes a week), either way. I don't see what channel it would fit on without undoing all the progress we've had. ITVBe and MTV would both be a bit... trashy for want of a better word, they're both very into scritped reality so I feel like it would be a step back, and after being teased with how BB *can* be again, almost back to its C4 glory days, I'd rather it just went entirely that that. So a streaming service might be the way. It would be a shame to lose the community feel of tweeting along etc. but I guess on here it might just be a case of don't go into the thread if you haven't seen the episode, Twitter would be a minefield, but we'd work it out :P

Channel 4 have The Great British Bake Off, Gogglebox, Derry Girls, Ackley Bridge and Naked Attraction, why would they want Big Brother back?

I feel like they planned to cancel it all along and this year was probably planned as the final 3 series to go well or have more attention paid to them at least, to placate the fans when it does go. But it's frustrated me more than anything that we had to endure such shite when they clearly didn't give two shits about the format and were driving it into the ground, and only at the last minute do they bother to take care and make a year of brilliant series. If they'd done that, the ratings could be even higher now, but Ben bloody Frow would still axe it in favour of a Jane McDonald presented Love Island clone to fit all his obsessions.

Perhaps the worst thing is all the idiots who think they're intellectuals for not watching reality TV like "FINALLY!1!1! The Voice and X Factor next to stop rotting our brains", hun there's HUNDREDS of channels on the TV, you can turn over and just not watch what you don't like?! A social experiment is much more interesting, full of debate and more emotionally arousing than watching people on benefits struggling to live and bragging about being on benefits or watching Jane McDonald singing a karaoke cover of any given song that's been sung 200 times on any given talent show...
