New IDLES record, coming a year after their brilliant debut "Brutalism".

The singles have mostly been fantastic, "Danny Nedelko" and "Samaritans" in particular have been getting 6 Music rotation for the past few months. This should be one of the best punk records of the year.

This record has a 90 score on Metacritic - that makes it the best reviewed record since Mount Eerie's album last year... it also puts it as the 52nd best reviewed album of all time which is unreal!
Hadn't consciously listened to this band before but went into this because I'm seeing nothing but stupendous praise for it. Really enjoyed it. Reminds me of (what little I know of) old school post-punk with just how much energy there is.
“Danny Nedelko” is fantastic - the energy it exudes and its lyrics remind of the fun, catchy and melodic post-punk/pop that the Libertines were coming out with in early 2002. Really great and very pleased to see them achieve a Top 5 album this week!

'Mercedes Marxist' is out now! It was originally written for Joy.

It will be released physically on August 2nd as a 7" with I Dream Guillotine as a B-side.

I wish it had a proper hook to keep my interest, for that reason the song just plods on without really saying much. Also it feels as though it finishes a bit abruptly.

I wasn't really getting the hype for IDLES based on the first couple of songs I heard from them but this song is an absolute stormer. Love the music video as well.

I'm getting really bored of Idles tbh, their songs are all starting to sound the same.

They have some really good songs that sound different, like Danny Nedelko and Gram Rock - but this is just them on autopilot. I really want them to change it up for album 3, but I can't see it happening.
