September 17, 20186 yr Author Rumours are circulating that Glennis Grace, a finalist in the current season of America's Got Talent will be representing The Netherlands in Tel Aviv next May. What some of you children may not know however is that she also represented The Netherlands back in 2005 with "My Impossible Dream", kicking off an eight year long dwelling in the Semis for the Dutch - and boy, if you thought that she's a bit of a Witney Houston tribute act now then it's at least reassuring to know that she's got past form in this area. THEN (TW: Contains three separate instances of a "running man" dance move during a power ballad) S_Yy3L4mJKo NOW e4Tdwa7zyjQ Glennis Graceful or a Glennis DisGrace? Dutchies lemme hear you make some noise!
September 18, 20186 yr She's a bloody good vocalist (the best this season of AGT has had for sure), but I do find it amusing how they portray her on AGT as this random struggling single mother from the Netherlands who just happened to fall onto a talent show when she clearly has a career over there, if not solo (obviously I don't know the ins and outs of Dutch pop culture) then I know she's in that Ladies Of Soul group with Edsilla Rombiley and Trintje Oosterhuis and judging by Wikipedia they sell/do quite well in the chart. She also doesn't particularly have that sort of spark of a great performer or do much more than being a great vocalist, her voice is knockout for sure but you aren't totally captivated by her performance and I can't imagine her doing a brilliant modern pop song and smashing at Eurovision. Put it this way, if she was a recording artist here, she'd be Radio 2 B-List and Strictly results show
January 20, 20196 yr The Dutch commentator Cornald Maas has confirmed that the artist and song has been chosen and has said this about it: “I know everything, but I’m not going to say much yet. It’s going to be very good and pretty unexpected. Let me put it this way — the entry and song that we’re about to present, I’m very enthusiastic about it and I also believe that it is very likely to end very high” A strong rumour that I've seen floating around is that the Dutch are stepping away from the country route this year and will be sending a dance song..
January 20, 20196 yr A strong rumour that I've seen floating around is that the Dutch are stepping away from the country route this year and will be sending a dance song.. God I really bloody hope so. I know it's not just The Netherlands that do it, but countries repeatedly sending the same genre over and over again after one success really grinds me.
January 20, 20196 yr Agreed. But if Cyprus were to keep repeating "Fuego" for the next ten years I would totally be here for that
January 20, 20196 yr FINALLY! Hopefully they got one of our main dance producers to produce a track with someone with a big ass voice. That'd be fire A toned down version of Davina Michelle would be great
January 21, 20196 yr Apparantly a The Voice reject 🙄 I want something upbeat from him, but by the looks of it,that ain't happening
March 7, 20196 yr Netherlands in not a country song shocker! I quite like it actually, better than Belgium if we're going to compare.
March 7, 20196 yr Wow. Netherlands in not-sending-something-that-is-utter-toilet shocker.! It’s nice, well produced but not very catchy. Edited March 7, 20196 yr by ScottyEm
March 7, 20196 yr Way better than Belgium I agree! I think this will be one of those that grows on me with the performance and emerges through the actual Eurovision week.
March 7, 20196 yr Author Ooh that’s very good, can actually see that being a potential winner with a good tailwind!
