Evil Newman should put me on ignore like Chez Wombat told him to in the first place.

I've had you on ignore for two years now, Chez never told me to put you on my ignore list (he encouraged me to continue though).

I do occasionally look at your posts to see if they've improved, and unfortunately they never do.

They are no strangers on being no.1

Lol thanks to chart manipulation and cheap covers. They are a joke.

I feel so "honoured" that you've blocked me :D

I'll be celebrating in style with a few beers later tonight

How many million sales and sold out tours as well!! You won;t see anything like it from a pop band now.

Anyways, the quality of this album will be perfect, they are getting the best writers in the world on it which is needed. Always remember listening to the first single from each album for the 1st time and getting goosebumps. Queen of my heart and My love were incredible.

bts lol many fans hate some of its fans. https://www.facebook.com/1566849193327942/p...e=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/1566849193327942/p...e=3&theater westlife is not new to these competitions and now they're back

Westlife describe Steve as perfectionist so I'm expecting a great upbeat and ballad tracks. he did world of our own and Ed's shape of you

There is still a huge audience there for them and while the comeback won't be as big as take that's I can still see them doing well with albums and tours. Like take that, i can see them staying together too as apart from nick they havnt had great solo careers,Louis Walshe likewise doesn't have any other acts and financially Shane really needs it.

I am by no means a Westlife 'fan' however I do think they have some great songs, and Shane has an amazing voice.

I love

- When you're looking like that

- World of our own

- You raise me up

- Fool again

- Uptown girl

All great tracks. I also met them once when I was working at MTV and they are genuinely the nicest celebrities I have ever met. (I met tons including Alexandra Burke, Ellie Goulding, 50 Cent, Zac Efron, Charlie from Busted - who was a dick). They were the only ones who actually spoke to the crew as well as Laura Whitmore. And they also went round shaking everyone's hands thanking them. I hope they do really well.

My aunt was a huge fan for years and she met shane twice when he was solo and he refused both photographs snd autographs on both times, tge second time she met him outside after attending his not sold out solo tour,
I've met him once and he seemed a decent bloke. To be fair, he's probably pissed off with the millions of pounds he lost, his book is an interesting read. He will be making the money from now though, doubt he will be sticking it into property this time.

That's a real shame, he was the nicest one out of them all when I met them! :o

I had a not very nice experience with Geri where she was downright rude to me at a signing, didn't even look at me and ignored me when I spoke to her, they say you should never meet your idols (Victoria and Mel B were so lovely though!)

The amount of hatred for Westlife on this thread is hilarious. I know its not everybody's cup of tea but they are not the worst thing ever like so many claim they are. The biggest problem is that they released far too many covers as singles and even two themed cover albums. The sad this is that I think some of their mistakes aren’t their fault. How many times have they said in their book that they won’t do covers but Simon always found a way. Its amazing how he made them do What About Now, the only bloody cover on the album and the only single from it as well.

Plus, music critics were sometimes too harsh and they never even bothered to listen to it - that was very clear during both Where We are and Gravity albums.

Its so obvious they are fully aware of the general opinion of them which is why they released that funny comeback clip, with them sitting on the stool and Nicky going for the key change :D This doesn't mean things will be the same though, they themselves were sick of covers. And since Simon is out of the picture, he at least won't be able to pressure them. Its interesting they have another manager alongside Walsh.

Westshite are the worst, but I have heard Victoria is a legend to everyone  Probably why the press picked on her. They hate strong women and hate decent people even more.

You're making no sense whatsoever and quite frankly are coming across as a bit of an idiot. If you hate them so much then leave the thread for those who do enjoy them. I don't bother posting loads of horrible comments in the katy perry thread, just steer clear...

Westlife are no way that bad. They have some really good tracks in their back catalogue, their problem (as already mentioned on here) was that they were just puppets. Their team knew how to get them a number 1 single and a number 1 album, and that the Heart FM listeners would lap up any lazy cover single. A lot of the hate comes from how they manipulated the chart and who can ever forget the infamous chart battle with Oasis!

They had little control over what they released so I can't blame them too much and I do like how they are poking fun at themselves. I think there will be interest in the lead single, maybe not another number 1 but just like Take That etc. I think if they are clever they can market themselves to their older fanbase and some new fans too and still manage to sell out arenas in the UK and probably stadiums in Ireland.

A polite reminder to please respect other's views and that the medium of music taste is not an excuse to get personal. Next reminder won't be so polite.

Anyway, Westlife could be quite good when they didn't resort to the 'classic Westlife' formula that besieged the latter part of their career and the various uninspired cover versions. I can only hope this isn't one of those, but the writer of the track doesn't fill me with hope.

I am not too happy about Ed either but the fact that he is working with Steve Mac does sound good as he is the one that wrote Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, World Of Our Own.

Its ok if they keep the formula and change a bit, things can't stay exactly the same this time, I'm sure they know that. Honestly, the only issue I have is the fact that they had so many covers. It wouldn't even be as bad if they weren't released as singles. No one can deny Against All Odds, Uptown Girl and You Raise Me Up has done wonders for them but Home, When You Tell Me You Love Me and What About Now were just unecessary - not to mention 2 cover albums + Face to Face that was half covers as well. It made me sick when Shane actually said (he was obviously instructed to say that) the reason they released The Love Album is because there weren't original songs good enough for them at the time. The sad thing is that they were very excited writing for the 3rd album but management weren't happy about that, Shane admitted how scared he was writing for his debut because he was never encouraged to do it.

Case in point, at the very last minute, the management decided to use Lighthouse as a single over co-written song from Mark Feehily, Beautiful World, just because Gary Barlow wrote it - whats funny is that I later found out that song was Gary's 3 year old leftover. They probably thought its a winner just because of Gary. Obviously they were wrong, the song was mediocre at best and it ended up #32, which is the only time Westlife even had a Top 30. Heck, they never even had a Top 20.

Beautiful world should have been a single one of my fave songs from them. I think they need to take a leaf out of Take That's book when they returned as they had much more control and say in everything and they done what they felt comfortable with which wasn't the case when they were originally together. I know westlife have a much better relationship with Louis than take that had with Nigel but they still need to have much more say in the decision making.
