Chart Commentary

 

 

British pop singer Casey Lowry makes his chart debut this week, as Me & You, the first single from his forthcoming debut EP, impacts instantly at #1. A self-confessed lover of tropical pop, Me & You is a great track, unfortunately released after the summer as it's perfect for the good weather. Blank Face, an even newer track, debuts at #28 too. Also making their chart debuts this week are Ozuna and Logan Henderson.

 

In this week's album chart, Benjamin Ingrosso scores a chart-topping album with Identification. Although a large number of his singles have been left off, it does include his previous two - Dance You Off and I Wouldn't Know, both of which peaked at #2. New single Behave starts at #30 this week.

 

 

Racking up a steady stream of hits in just over a year since they first surfaced, PRETTYMUCH notch up their seventh top 10 hit with Solita at #3 this week. It's instantly their second highest peaking track, after No More made #2 at the tail end of 2017, while it's also their second highest debut - only their second top 10 debut. Solita features Rich the Kid, who notches up his second top 40 hit, and first top 10.

The last of this week's new top 10 entries comes from Kylie Minogue, fresh from seeing her live at her Golden Tour on Wednesday 26th September. The tour was amazing, and Kylie is such a seasoned performer that she executed an incredible show without batting an eyelid. Giving the Casey Lowry track a listen now - enjoying the beat and his voice is nice as well!

 

Taki Taki seems... alright on first listen but nothing amazingly special, could grow though and I suspect I'll be hearing a lot more of it!

 

Half As Good As You was quite nice as well, it hasn't stuck out for me though like most other Odell/Merton songs have.
