One of the least successful countries in recent years, Iceland, will be in Tel Aviv despite all the calls for a boycott of Israel. The broadcaster has confirmed that their selection process Söngvakeppnin will return for 2019. You can read more here: https://www.escxtra.com/2018/10/26/iceland-...vakeppnin-2019/

If history does indeed repeat itself, it's time for Iceland to finish 2nd once again!

I really hope we pull ourselves together this time as we've been missing that OOMPH for a while. We need to bring something massive to the stage. Some choreography or something other than just a solo singer standing alone on stage belting out an otherwise good song (pretending last year didn't happen). We need a PERFORMANCE - something we haven't really delivered since 2012.

The lineup (and songs too but still yet to track those down!) has leaked and if you're a TRUE eurofan then one of these names needs no introduction!

1. Daníel Óliver - Samt ekki - Licky Licky

2. Elli Grill, Skaði, Glymur - Jeijó, keyrum alla leið - [icelandic version only]

3. Friðrik Ómar - Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað? - What If I Can´t Have Love?

4. Hatari - Hatrið mun sigra - [icelandic version only]

5. Heiðrún Anna Björnsdóttir - Helgi - Sunday Boy

6. Hera Björk - Eitt andartak - Moving On

7. Ívar Daníels - Þú bætir mig - Make Me Whole

8. Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen - Ég á mig sjálf - Mama said

9. Tara Mobee - Betri án þín - Fighting For Love

10. Þórdís Imsland - Nú og hér - What Are You Waiting For?

Iceland's thing is usually that all the songs have Icelandic versions and English versions (save for two Icelandic purists this year) - will update y'all when the tracks are available!

Friðrik Ómar is also one half of Euroband *.*

These names have me hyped for this! Don't let me down Iceland!

lexc being a flop person not to mention a eurofan omg burn ha at the stake for only getting Hera right

there's world outside of Top 75 ESC entries hun!!!!1

wow Hera looks so different now. skinny legend <3

the song is not quite good however. just a standard ballad :(

Hatari are SMASHING the youtube views (5.1k vs second place's 2.2k). this would be an incredible entry for Eurovision. Stan mode on *.*

get acquainted with the eventual winner x

I'm scared.

This is a really good set of songs overall, I didn't particularly enjoy anything in last year's lineup

Hatari would be such a standout entry, and would sound really fresh, so I'd be all for that winning, but personally my initial favourite is Helgi/Sunday Boy. Very early Cardigans-esque <3

Also really like the songs by Tara Mobee, Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen and Þórdís Imsland. Hera's song is ok but sounds pretty pedestrian in this selection, and I'm not really up for Iceland going for another ballad at all when nearly everything apart from the ballads (apart from the dire track by Elli Grill, Skaði and Glymur) is so good.

Hatari would be a really exciting entry for Iceland and potentially something that could get them back in the final? I think with an impressive stage show this would win around enough voters - plus it'd be really nice to have an Icelandic language entry!

Hatari currently have 47k views on Youtube which is 3 times as many as that terrible trio has. Poor brave old Hera has around 20k combined but she has 2 versions uploaded so it doesn't count bye

Controversy in Iceland ahead of tomorrow’s #Eurovision selection. The favourites Hatari have said they are only competing so that they can protest against Israel on stage in Tel Aviv. They’re aware that they’d be disqualified before May, but that their intention won’t be silenced

Well it's over.

f***ing hell

they get a good song competing but some DNQ crap will win now instead

Last saturday we had Friðrik Ómar and Tara Mobee through along with a wildcard from the first night (Kristina Skoubo). Friðrik was pretty much the only one with the vocals on point but lbr the song is a straight up rip-off of "Love On The Brain" :x
