I don’t really agree this is a fair comparison, because at that point in the competition Latrice had not been doing that much worse than Monet who she was up against (Monet had had 3 out of 4 bad weeks at that point pretty much same as Latrice). It’s not like Latrice was up against Trinity. And the time she could have sent home the person who was the strongest at that point (Val), she didn’t. Despite saying she could have for drama.

 

The more I think about Naomi’s choice the more bizarre it feels, why has she just (presumably) made it easier for Trinity (or Monet?) to win?

Agreed, people keep bringing it up but at that point it was two people with a similar track record (Monet had the win but also 3 bad weeks), and in that situation who you prefer as a person is probably going to edge it. It's not even close to being comparable to a situation where there's the strongest competitor against the weakest, a no brainer. It's not Big Brother, you don't need to play it with alliances in mind, you save me I'll save you, otherwise what's the point in even trying in challenges....

 

I agree it's a great cast too, I remember being so excited for it but it's just turned out pretty shit. We should have had a Trinity and Manila top 2 with Valentina 3rd.

Why should it go on track record though? It makes the eliminations so boring to watch when you know who's on that lipstick. I'm not a Drag Race super fan so maybe that's why I'm not as bothered by Manila's elimination, and whilst she would've been a deserving winner, Trinity, Naomi and Monique have entertained me just as much as a viewer. I admire Naomi for having the balls to flip the same old script and do it with her head held high and no fake tears.

Monet has only done better in the eyes of the judges. I would say Valentina is about level with Monique perfomance wise but has shown more polished star power.

Because then what's the point of doing challenges, working hard or fighting to stay in? :lol: I don't think it should be necessarily be totally stringently only judged on track record with no wiggle room at all, because it's subjective and the judges have made some bizarre decisions plus there are times when it's blurred a bit but when it's as blatant as Manila being the frontrunner and Latrice being by far the worst, that's when it gets a bit ridiculous.

 

I know it's an All Stars cliche/stock (half of the AS1 cast, Taitanna/supposedly Alyssa but I'm not a fan at all), Shangela and now Manila), but when it happens every time it just makes you wonder why they bother doing well in challenges. I'd rather it was just normal format, the lipsyncs are much more interesting that way as bar a few you always know will be shit, it makes it a bit more interesting as to who'll go. Maybe they could still have the top 2 lipsync for the prizes, and then the bottom 2 lipsync to stay. I don't think Lipsync For Your Legacy really brings much drama, and I hate the alliance and gameplay - it's not Big Brother :lol: If they wanted to do a Drag Race season of Big Brother, I'd be here but All Stars is not it.

I wouldn't have her top 2 in Jersey Justice, but she was 3rd for me. Her Snatch Game bottom 2 is possibly the most ridiculous I've ever seen, I get that it wasn't funny really (although it wasn't Val's fault none of them got the "pull the lever Kronk" reference...) but at least she had the character down. Monet was just being herself, plus she wasn't funny at all, which surely is worse.

It's not that it should be "fair" as such, but this is really an extreme when the bottom 2 had such a disparity (not just on track record, within the episode too (Manila's was weak but Latrice's was downright ugly, I get that that's just my opinion but still). I don't see what's dramatic or entertaining about seeing the likes of Naomi and Latrice pretty much coast to top 5, like wow well done Naomi you're not 4th out of 5 instead of 5th out of 6 :o The lipsync for your legacy thing has been getting kinda tired for a while but this just reaffirmed that. There's been some pretty weak lipsyncs which hasn't helped, but that was a problem in AS3 too, idk why $10k isn't enough of a push to win one, I at least have to applaud Naomi for that.

I think it's very different and uncomparable to shows like BB. It's a show based on talent such as ANTM, and should be treated as one where that's how they are judged and how they are sent home.

 

I'm more annoyed at the editing / judging / format of All Stars more than anything tbh. I've never truly enjoyed a All Stars series to its fullest because the actual star of the show never wins (soz Trixie and Alaska fans). And yes this is my opinion, it's bothering that you have to add that at the end of a post :lol:

Week 1 - Monique was better

Week 2 - Valentina was clearly better

Week 3 - Whilst i agree Val shouldn’t have been B2 she was still worse than Monique

Week 4 - They both done well but Monique deserved top 2 for having better runway

Week 5 - Monique was CLEARLY the 3rd best in the roast

Week 6 - Monique done more than crawl across the stage

Week 7 - Monique’s club was definitively better

 

So I really can’t see how they were at the same level based on this season?? Monet was more on the same level as Valentina having outperformed her in the Roast and Club challenge and being about on par in Snatch game

 

I get that judging on this is objective so Monet vs Valentina can be argued but I think it’s fairly clear Monique done a better job than Valentina

The list was more in comparison to Monet. I do love Monique - her and Asia were by far my favourites in season 10. I agree she may be slightly above Valentina in terms of performance, but has come across a little less polished to me. I think Monique has been fantastic given how soon she came into All Stars but for example her mug has looked dodgy throughout the season.

In regards to the talent, for this very reason regular RPDR seasons as well as Project Runway or ANTM don't do the RPDR AS format. And I'm certain producers knew it would not always be fair from the very start.

 

all I see is the show's format being blamed on Naomi now just because her choice wasn't worthy of miss congeniality

 

I have many feelings about the last episode, mostly that Monet was one of the most undeserving challenge winners we've seen yet. Honestly, the make up and outfit on her Judy was...unforgiving to say the least. From the pasty white face to the tights, good lord above it was horrific. I can't fathom how that was top 2, other than to deliberately even out the win numbers and not have one clear, outright candidate for the crown. And obviously that person is Trinity.

 

Trinity won this week, hands down. That makeover was stunning. The hair, the make up, the outfit - all absolutely flawless. But giving her the 4th win at this stage would have been as good as ending it early.

 

I'm baffled by the need to force us to think Monet is better than she is. Yes, she's funny. But come on now, as far as her looks go, there's basic, then there's Monet. If she wins this thing, which is looking increasingly possible, it will be an absolute travesty.

 

Oh, and Naomi's lip sync was absolutely epic. I lived for that and she deserved every cent of that cash tip.

To me the fans put a bit too much stock in her Wendy Williams, it was great and certainly top 3 that week but she did lose it as it went on and only picked it back up ending it so strongly with the fall. I mean she could have been top 2 but Manila and Trinity were better for me and made me laugh more. In terms of embodying Wendy she was better than Manila but I found the Barbra caricature so randomly hilarious :lol:

A tad but I do agree it was a thing for pretty much all of them bar Trinity's, plus I did love Naomi's concept more, they definitely should have been the top 2 anyway.

 

I guess that's a common thing with the makeover challenges as it must be hard on the first time making someone over (whether you know them or not) to get the right style that compliments them as well as matching the queen's own style so there's a family resemblance.

Trinity's was the closest I'd say. She did a great job.

 

Naomi's make up on her Judy was a bit jarring. It was the heavy, heavy contouring on the nose that was throwing me off as it made it look extremely long and pointed.

I thought Manila’s Judy and Trintiy’s Judy’s both were beat!
