Really? That was quick, do we know when it's out?

Well her tour starts in March 2019 and it’s for both albums so sometime before then.

I personally think it’ll come out in late January / early February rather than this year though.

Ariana broke the her own record by doing over 10 million worldwide yesterday.
Wow Ariana 785 on Spotify.

insane, 4.2M in the US alone and 8.2M WW. INSANE!

Also yay at '1999' being top 20 now!
Surely #1 is in the bag for Ari at this point?

Yeah I. Guess.

100% sure #1 for Ariana Id say, amazing numbers

good that she is able to pull those kind of numbers that only seemed be possible for Ed Sheeran and Drake

I just can't get my head over how this is doing SUCH huge numbers and No Tears, whilst it did well, didn't do nearly as well and that had so much more hype / promotion etc. I don't think Ariana or her team will have expected it to have blown up like this either!
It's because a lot of people get swept up in hype and emotional trains. They blamed Ariana for Malcolm's death. That made no sense. Otherwise, no one ever can have exes lest something happen to one of them and forever be blamed for not 'saving them'. This is sexism and they don't even realise it - seeing it as a woman's job to stick around and save and support a man as an inferior partner. Internalised patriarchal sexism, but still they rage on her Instagram etc. Now Ariana releases a personal song (who wrote it btw?) and calls Malcolm an angel. The same people who were raging at het over the death of an ex now feel included in the narrative again, feel connected to the passed celebrity due to the lyric, and buy/ stream the song. It's like when a celebrity dies and gets a huge boost. Due to the narrative plus connection, they consume this song too, regardless of the fact it is not as good as past songs.

The song isn't just about Malcolm, I think the fact it is explicitly about all her exes has brought it a lot of publicity (especially so soon after her Pete break-up).

Ariana wrote it alongside a team of writers/producers like with most of her songs.

Global numbers for the song today are 8,197,811.

The only but is that her much better recent singles all missed

And this is gonna be @1 just on hype even if it is clearly inferior

I personally couldnt care less about her exes

Christmas

120 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

Ariana has had quite a few singles that way deserved #1 over this.

After hearing this and most of that Sweetener album, I'm starting to think she's lost it for me quality-wise. Such a shame after Dangerous Woman was such a masterclass album.

The only but is that her much better recent singles all missed

And this is gonna be @1 just on hype even if it is clearly inferior

I personally couldnt care less about her exes

You can't project your opinion onto the public though, and I think that despite its #2 peak, we're all forgetting just how huge no tears left to cry was. Its #2 debut at the time was the second biggest weekly sale of the whole YEAR, of course only beaten by One Kiss at #1 that same week. It got very unlucky to miss #1 and has been one of the biggest hits of the year. As for this song, I don't think we can say at this point that it's going to be #1 on hype alone. It's growing in streams day-to-day which is a clear sign it's popular (otherwise people wouldn't have relistened after their curiosity play). The press she's getting due to discussing her exes in the song is undoubtedly helping but Ari's star has just continued to rise. Let's not diminish it because we personally don't like the song.
