November 16, 20186 yr Surely I’m not witnessing actual, hearing people pretend that ‘Gentleman’ is anything other than hot garbage. There’s a reason it torpedoed all momentum the band had built up with WAU. ‘Strip’ isn’t my favourite song on the album, but lord the hyperbole in here. The video is gorgeous. I’m slightly obsessed with Sharaya J.
November 16, 20186 yr Personally, I'm glad they released it and it's the 2nd single. Music is about risks, this is going to be a Marmite song 100% and it probably won't do well BUT I think people are being VERY dramatic it won't affect the momentum at all. They'll just move on with a new single faster than usual or make it more of a promo single. This album is one of the best for me, I love it! But again, it's not the bubblegum pop we're used to so it won't appeal to everyone. Edited November 16, 20186 yr by Mr. C. Joel
November 17, 20186 yr This is absolute crap, genuinely no idea how the video got signed off - terrible.
November 17, 20186 yr It wouldn’t surprise me if they just randomly changed the single and claimed this was a promo single due to the amount of negative comments about it, it’s obvious though it was intended to be a single judging by all their interviews and one of the main reasons they left Syco was due to this not being allowed to be lead single!
November 17, 20186 yr Not a fan of this. I hope it does well for them (obv) but I'm really not feeling it. I'm all for Little Mix lifting themselves and their fans up with confident, sassy songs but I don't think this needs to be a single...
November 17, 20186 yr Yeah, this song really isn't a single material. I'm not even sure if this is meant to be a proper single. This got a low budget music video and was released on album release day together with another low budget music video for another song. So, I wonder if this is even getting a proper push.
November 17, 20186 yr This is brilliant. One of my favorite singles by them. Potentially huge if they play it right.
November 17, 20186 yr Y'all are so afraid of things that are different. Different isn't always a good thing sis They shoulda went with Wasabi. Now that is a song
November 17, 20186 yr Yeah, I'm really confused what their intention is with this. It's not formally been announced as the second single, has it? I wonder if they're reconsidering and going for something more universal. Edit: Apparently Kiss have played 'Wasabi' but not 'Strip'? Edited November 17, 20186 yr by Defaze
November 17, 20186 yr Well #22 Spotify debut, top 30 on iTunes, trending top 10 in the USA, it's not going badly so far; ANTHEM!
November 17, 20186 yr I can't get over how atrocious it is :drama: Let's just have The Cure as single #02 and all will be fine x
November 17, 20186 yr I can't get over how atrocious it is :drama: Let's just have The Cure as single #02 and all will be fine x YES!!!! Someone with taste :)
November 18, 20186 yr Ugh let's not bring up Gentleman, hated how it pratically ruined all the Sats momentum. Had they gone with "Not Giving Up" instead I'm sure they'd have had a very different chart experience. As for Strip, obviously not single material, heck the song isnt that great either, but at least it has some sort of empowering message, as cliché as it is these days. Gentleman was just horrendously bland with nothing to offer. Hopefully they wont spend too much time with this as their main single and move on to the 3rd single by Xmas Edited November 18, 20186 yr by Euphorique
