Shout Out To My Ex the last single to not have a feature! *.*
Touch was. It had a remix, but that wasn't used as the single. Plus, 'Touch' was a huge smash even before the addition of Kid Ink. So lets not pretend Touch wasn't a hit before the remix :P

Kid Ink was featured on ‘Touch’ in hope of it becoming an American smash, therefore they still got a rent a rapper. 9/10 of their last single releases (8/10 if we pretend Touch never got another a rapper). It’s still pretty annoying and I can fully understand why their fans are becoming frustrated.

I wouldn’t count Touch at all. It was only a hit in Uk and Aus and because of the solo version. The remix was pretty much abandoned in America too.
So 8/10 out of their last 10 singles to have features is pretty disappointing, their big enough to get hits of their name a lone but don’t think their label are so confident.

I'm with you. I just wouldn't count 'Touch'

But meh, it is what it is I guess. Just hurry tf up and get it on radio. Grr.

I don’t understand why the immediate thought is always “the label isn’t confident in them” when the more likely answer is “it’s a lot easier to throw out a remix than to schedule enough promo to build a post album single from the ground up”.

It’s really not a big deal, just listen to the album version if you don’t like the remix. Half the radio stations will use that version anyway.

Yeah I agree. It helps the song get off to a better start and catch the eye - it makes perfect sense. I wish they’d had waited a couple of singles before doing it again but it doesn’t bother me hugely.

I highly doubt that. C'mon now.

I really don't get the big deal with the remixes. The originals still exist.

Also, 'rent a rapper' is a horrendous phrase.

I think the reason their label tacks other artists onto the singles is because in their mind they think it'll get more streams if it appears on the other artist's Spotify page too. With the amount of times they've done it, it does totally have an air of them not having confidence in the songs standing on their own two feet.

It's annoying because I'm pretty sure they'd be fine without doing it.

Their decline with this era will be evident to their label. Adding on a rent a rapper to me is a sign of lack of confidence. They should be out working for a hit. I used to love them but this constant features is just ridiculous now. Time for hiatus......

The main issue I’ve had with the features on singles is that it’s cut the best parts of the song out.

If Ty Dollas verse cuts out the oh na na na parts I won’t be impressed.

I bet it wasn’t even their decision though they were adamant they only wanted female artists on the album.

Edit: I realise this isn’t on the album the new version but it’s still went against what they said the era was gonna be about.

Just release The Cure and perform it at the BRITS and the album will definitely rebound.

Abandoning ship... because of features. Lord.

It's really not that deep.

I don’t see anything on my post about abandoning ship? I said the constant features is ridiculous. But as a band they are in decline, a hiatus would be good - in my opinion of course!

IKR?!

Also, the whole "having to work for their hit" is ridiculous. Especially as this era has followed an era where they were literally NON-STOP. To the point that they decided to cover for an act who had pulled out of headlining Summertime or Jingle Bell Ball (can't remember which) by agreeing to do the FOLLOWING NIGHT TOO. As well as the biggest UK arena tour of 2016 + 2017 and a massive Summer tour in 2017 too..

These women are still the hardest working women in pop today. They've already given us two performances of TAU and it's not even been serviced to radio yet.

Promo for WLM was too staggered and so we literally went weeks without promo, when we're so used to it all being at once. TAU just needs to be serviced to radio and put onto streaming playlists. Remix or not. You can't just expect them to get a hit when it's receiving 0 airplay and constantly being dubbed "a song we love from LM5" as opposed to "performing our brand new single".

I'm fine with people taking issue with the fact that the single isn't serviced to radio yet, but I take issue with people essentially calling them lazy. It also infuriates me that people like Little Mix are being called out for getting "lazy hits" and expected to promote or whatever, when Drake, Post Malone and Bieber etc.. do f*** all. Literally nothing over here and still manage to get massive hits...

Edit: eek. Sorry! That ended up with me venting for the sake of me venting lmao!

Getting a single out and getting yourself out on tv, radio etc is promotion for a song. That’s the work that should be done. Throwing on a rapper so it becomes a fresh version is lazy and that fact that’s what they’ve done time and time again is Lazy. Touring I am not disputing but that’s not promoting a single which is what I’m getting at!

Well as long as they don't tack features on to single 3 and 4... Clearly being Monster In Me and Wasabi (Single Mix without rapper.)

Havent they already performed TAU twice before the remix is even announced?

Like Joe said, they've performed TAU 2x already... I really don't get your point? Sorry!
Ugh im so tired of them tacking on rappers as thats all thats gonna be listed on youtube spotify, radio etc. Their songs (less so kn Lm5 but thats my personal opinion) have always been strong enough on their own. They have enough radio power as well so they don' even need those rappers for their songs to be played

it's clear they have a winning strategy when it comes to their single releases, just let them do it - in the eyes of the gp, little mix are the main act on the track + they get all the focus anyway.

+ now we know they're performing at the brits, we understand why they've waited to announce single 2 - they're going to use the big promo slot to work their schedule around.
