Mama is an idiotic song, Mama Mama Hola Hola, who wrote it? a 4 year old?

Baby is popular as shown by iTunes, it just hasn't been placed high enough on HH, thats it

Baby is showing signs of doing better on Spotify now, but is being drowned by Christmas. I've said 100 times that it'll probably peak in January, and stand by it.
RUIN THE SONG?! :arrr:

Not ruin sorry. I meant the artist to involve on the song. I’m not saying I don’t like Marina. As a matter of fact, I do. Especially “Radioactive” that is still a tune. What I’m saying is that if they got a major artist on one of their singles, it would be an instant hit

Baby is not underperforming because of Marina, that's just nonsense. Clean Bandit are big enough names to get hits despite who features on their tracks. Ina Wroldsten is hardly a huge name, yet it didn't stop Breathe with Jax Jones being huge. Baby hasn't fully connected yet, but I do feel its lack of visibility on Spotify in comparison to their previous hits is a big part of the problem. The fact it's doing so well on Airplay and iTunes suggests this.

Either way, I still feel it's too early to write it off.

Oh and Mama would be a bad choice for the next single, so I really hope they don't go with that.

Clean Bandit are performing on totp on nye- bet they get another performer to perform Baby and it rockets
I actually think its a bit cos of Marina sadly, the anti-Midas of pop :/
Where is Dalton

spotify web app has dalton's total plays to 156,000 -

it was only 7,000 yesterday. so he got 149k increase. I expect most of them to come from the UK. so he should debut on the top 200 today. Also to note he is #14 on Apple Music Streaming.

Dalton is in at #89

Baby isn't doing too bad considering there's loads album tracks and Christmas songs ahead. Its at #88. Compare that to Cheryl who's had two massive promo performances and is 10 places higher on Hot Hits UK, but still only #185 on Spotify.

It really isn't though. This anti-Midas Marina theory has no basis. Whilst she certainly hasn't had anywhere near the success she should have, she certainly isn't the flop artist of the century. I mean, she does have a no.1 album which is nothing to be sniffed. None of the songs on Froot charted, but then none of them were pushed as actual singles, so I think this idea of her being the anti-Christ of chart success has been massively overblown.

It was simply hindered by being like #40 on Hot Hits since release, and has only started to be moved up now when Christmas songs are dominating. Mama is also on Hot Hits, but is not top 200. Like I said, it won't be massive, but if it had been top 15 on Hot Hits weeks ago, it'd be safely in the Spotify top 50 by now and probably would already be charting top 15/20 in the UK.

yes it's doing pretty well

but I reckon if it had been somebody else it would have been insta-added to R1, the late add and low placing I'm sure it's cos it's Marina

Dalton is also up to #8 on Apple Music. I know apple music is bigger in the states ? but what's the ratio in the uk ? does spotify pull in twice or more streams ?

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. Marina's solo stuff pre-Froot all made it onto the Radio 1 playlist, including total flops like Power and Control. I don't see why they'd have any agenda against her, especially as she guested on the chart show just a few weeks ago. I think the song is less instantly identifiable as a Clean Bandit track compared to the likes of Solo, which is probably why it took longer to make the playlist. But hopefully it all pays off in the end. I still feel it'll go Top 15 at the very least.
