December 14, 20187 yr the Occ could easily invent a separate chart for Xmas songs only and exclude them from the normal top 40 :/That's what Billboard did for many years to keep old Christmas songs from re-charting year after year. Mainly because 'White Christmas' wouldn't go away. Though by the time Billboard introduced that rule the single wasn't haven't anywhere near as much as an impact on the chart as the Christmas hits do now. Obviously streaming (and previously downloads) weren't an issue back then.
