Songs are all out here, or at least...most of them are out

TVR have now said that in addition to these songs there will be a number of wildcards, partly to fill in for Dan Bitman pulling out.

Candidate 1 is Bella Santiago who cam close to getting the ticket last year and has subsequently won the Romanian X Factor so has a big following. Check out her performing a song you may just recognise here:

and allegedly there are swirling rumours of late 00s/early 10s Romanian dance superstar Inna also being interested in a wildcard spot.

Something gives me the feeling that Romania aren't keen on getting another Non Qualifier!

Laura Bretan's Dear Father is the only thing I've heard so far this year where I think certain top 10 at Eurovision if it gets there

Bella Santiago was indeed given a wildcard spot so this is very likely the Romanian entry in Tel Aviv

If Youtube views are any indicator, Bella and Laura (and MIHAI who has now withdrawn..) have by far the most with over 110k each and the best anyone else has managed is around 33k. "Army of Love" has only been online for three or four days as well

I'm interested to see how the vocals of Army of Love will translate to the stage, she's good overall but some parts of that Hora din Moldova were a bit ropey.

Absolutely loving Army Of Love so I hope that gets chosen *.* I love the drop, her vocals are great (if she can pull them off live ofc) and the Fillipino language rap is an interesting touch too, it's always good to have some new languages represented even if just for a verse.
Oops apparently Laura Bretan is quite prominently anti-gay in Romania
we need an act to boo in Israel so I say let that bitch win

Omg I only listened to the song rather than seeing her and didn't click with the name but Laura came 6th on America's Got Talent in 2016!! I've found her being homophobic now, she said in an interview she "supports the family as god gave it" in support of the referendum to deem same-sex marriage unconstitutional. People are saying "she's only young she's probably just got drawn in by her parents and had a religious upbringing" but like... she's 16 not 6  I know she has time to mature but Eurovision the very last place for people with these views to have a platform.

Regardless, Army Of Love is so much better than Dear Father even if we look past that.

I love 'army of love' so much.

I like dear father too though but she can step to the side for queen bella, thanks.

Emmelie de Forest, William and Deban from Wiwibloggs and a guy who produced Bella Santiago’s first single (!) are part of the international jury for this so hopefully they can show Laura the door

They’re not making the mistake of letting the public/the person who can buy the most votes have 100% of the say again :’j

Ester Peony has won thanks to the jury, who had 90% of the final say.

It’s not terrible, which tbh is the best I can ask for from Romania.

ARMY OF LOVE WAS RIGHT f***ING THERE, this is even worse than Safari bombing

I mean I guess that's fine but I can't see it really doing a lot. At least it's not Laura though.

I don’t wanna say dodgy but, the two wiwibloggs queens having more voting power than all of the Romanian public doesn’t ring very fair.
It's like a poor imitation of Funny Girl. Romania went almost fifteen years without a bad entry and now two in a row - sad.
