Will be a disgrace when Gods Plan beats the culturally defining hits that are One Shot & Shotgun!

God's Plan not culturally defining? (plus there's no guarantee it'll be #1, One Kiss was pretty close behind a month ago!)

I'd actually say not, at least not to the degree of those he mentioned.

38 songs in less than 2 hours? What are they thinking? :(

They'll skip a few songs as always, they've been doing that all day.

Biography

Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most skillful and successful hip hop artists of his generation, with various media outlets branding him the "new king of hip hop".

Raised in Compton, California, Lamar embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage name K-Dot, releasing a mixtape that garnered local attention and led to his signing with indie record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). He began to gain recognition in 2010, after his first retail release, Overly Dedicated. The following year, he independently released his first studio album, Section.80, which included his debut single, "HiiiPoWeR". By that time, he had amassed a large online following and collaborated with several prominent hip hop artists, including The Game, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg. Lamar's major label debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, was released in 2012 by TDE, Aftermath, and Interscope Records to critical acclaim. It debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum by the RIAA. The record contained the top 40 singles "Swimming Pools (Drank)", "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe", and "Poetic Justice". His critically acclaimed third album To Pimp a Butterfly (2015) incorporated elements of funk, soul, jazz, and spoken word. It debuted atop the charts in the US and the UK, and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album at the 58th ceremony. In 2016, Lamar released Untitled Unmastered, a collection of unreleased demos that originated during the recording sessions for Butterfly. He released his fourth album Damn in 2017 to further acclaim; its lead single "Humble" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Aside from his solo career, Lamar is also known as a member of the West Coast hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside his TDE label-mates and fellow South Los Angeles–based rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Schoolboy Q.

Lamar has received many accolades over the course of his career, including twelve Grammy Awards. In early 2013, MTV named him the "Hottest MC in the Game", on their annual list. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016. In 2018, Damn became the first non-classical and non-jazz album to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music. - Wikipedia

SZA

Solána Imani Rowe (born November 8, 1990), known professionally as SZA (/ˈsɪzə/ SIZ-ə), is an American singer and songwriter. Rowe was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, and later relocated to Maplewood, New Jersey. In October 2012, SZA self-released her debut EP, See.SZA.Run, which she then followed up with her second EP, titled S, in April 2013. In July 2013, it was revealed that she had signed to the hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment, through which she released Z, her third EP and first retail release, in April 2014.

SZA's debut studio album, Ctrl, was released on June 9, 2017, to universal acclaim from music critics. It debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 and was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album and its songs were nominated for four Grammy Awards, while SZA was nominated for Best New Artist at the 60th annual ceremony. Ctrl was ranked as the best album of 2017 by Time.

SZA is a neo soul singer, whose music has been described as alternative R&B, with elements of soul, hip hop, minimalist R&B, cloud rap, witch house, and chillwave. SZA's lyrics are described as "unravelling" and her songs often revolve around themes of sexuality, nostalgia, and abandonment. SZA cites a variety of artists as influences, including Ella Fitzgerald, Meelah, Björk, Jamiroquai, and Lauryn Hill, among others. SZA also takes influence from non-musical artists, including filmmaker Spike Lee. - Wikipedia

Breath sounding good! Is this what he played on totp on Xmas day there?

It is! But with Kamille instead of Ina Wroldsen.

So this chart has another exciting top 10... and it’s on a chart that virtually no one cares about.

By the way, what are the cutoff dates for the EOY? I’m seeing a ton of 2017 carryovers.

All The Stars is also really good <3 I'm a lil surprised this wasn't a bit bigger than it was tho considering how big Black Panther was! Also did Pray For Me miss the top 100 or is that still to come? :o

They've made mistakes like this before, I think Sweet But Psycho has got it!!

They'll skip a few songs as always, they've been doing that all day.

Hopefully almost all urban stuff left.

God's Plan not culturally defining? (plus there's no guarantee it'll be #1, One Kiss was pretty close behind a month ago!)

I'm sure this has been asked before but is this weeks sales counted as 2019 sales?

Yeh just felt Gods Plan was terrible, One Kiss and Shotgun did well on all platforms too including tv and radio!

So this chart has another exciting top 10... and it’s on a chart that virtually no one cares about.

By the way, what are the cutoff dates for the EOY? I’m seeing a ton of 2017 carryovers.

UK End of year is acc first chart of January to last chart of December iirc! But cos of streaming loads of the older songs make it really high the next year now

All The Stars one of the songs of the year for me! Don't know anyone who doesn't like it!
It is! But with Kamille instead of Ina Wroldsen.

I get mixed up with a lot of the djs hits these days but this is ok!!

Is there a list of the year's best-sellers on here? Can't see one like Vidcapper's albums one.

Biography

The Greatest Showman is a 2017 American musical film directed by Michael Gracey in his directorial debut, written by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon and starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya. The film is inspired by the story of P. T. Barnum's creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.

Principal photography began in New York City in November 2016. The film premiered on December 8, 2017, aboard the RMS Queen Mary 2. It was released in the United States on December 20, 2017, by 20th Century Fox and grossed over $434 million worldwide, making it the fifth-highest grossing live-action musical of all time. The film was released seven months after Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus's dissolution.

The Greatest Showman received mixed reviews, with praise for the performances, music, and production values, but criticism for its artistic license, with some reviewers calling it "faux-inspiring and shallow". At the 75th Golden Globe Awards, the film received nominations for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for Jackman. For the song "This Is Me", the film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards and for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. - Wikipedia

Biography

Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Tom Walker blends hip-hop-inspired beats, eclectic samples, and traditional songwriting in his music. Born in Scotland and raised in Manchester, England, Walker grew up listening to Ray Charles, the Police, and Bob Marley from his father's record collection, and taught himself how to play drums, guitar, piano, and bass. After studying songwriting at London's College of Contemporary Music, Walker began making music in earnest, collaborating with his housemates -- who included members of Whilk & Misky -- in their home studio. One of his songs, 2016's "Sun Goes Down," interpolated the '30s work song "I'll Be So Glad When the Sun Goes Down" and featured poet/musician Kojey Radical. The track earned acclaim and airplay on Radio 1, and Walker signed to Relentless soon after. His official debut single, "Fly Away with Me," arrived later that year. The Blessings EP was released in April 2017, along with a pair of singles, "Heartland" and "Leave a Light On." - iTunes

Biography

Zedd

In 2012, when Zedd released his debut album, Clarity, he had a clarification of his own to make: “#CLARITY is all about the music,” he tweeted. “The ‘M’ in ‘EDM’.” It was a crucial distinction for an artist who had come up through rave’s ranks in record time. The Russian-German producer, born Anton Zaslavski in 1989, got his start in electronic music in 2010 by winning a pair of remix contests—prior to that, he’d played guitar in a post-hardcore band, Dioramic. He came flying off the blocks soon after with remixes of Skrillex’s “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” But while his early singles, like 2011’s “Shave It,” were booming, laser-strafed electro-house anthems in a jagged style that some fans dubbed “complextro,” it soon became clear that those buzzing, fizzing synths were secondary to his real interest: songwriting. His second album, 2015’s True Colors, traded festival fireworks for sleek choruses, clever chord changes, and featured guests like Logic, Troye Sivan, and Selena Gomez, and since then he has continued to prove his range. “Stay,” a 2017 track with Alessia Cara, flips trap drums and silky vocoders into a bewitchingly skeletal (and devastatingly wistful) form, while 2018’s “Happy Now” trickles acoustic guitars over a twinkling music-box beat and a plaintive chorus that captures his music’s deceptive emotional pull. And then there’s 2018’s “The Middle,” a song Zedd tried out with a number of heavy-hitting vocalists (Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello) before finally going with Maren Morris, a country singer little known in pop-EDM circles. Splitting the difference between Morris’ grit and his own silicon sheen, Zedd once again proved his versatility—as well as his star-making instincts. - iTunes

Maren Morris

Maren Morris is a singer and songwriter whose music bridges the gap between hard country, classic rock, and hip-hop-influenced pop; she has enjoyed success as both a tunesmith and a performer. Morris was born in Dallas, Texas on April 10, 1990 and she grew up with a love of music, saying she was always willing to belt out a tune on the family's karaoke machine by age ten. By the time she was 14, she had learned to play guitar and began playing professionally, self-releasing a debut album, Walk On. Morris had struck a deal with Smith Music Group when she dropped her second album, 2007's All That It Takes; her songwriting was strong enough that she either wrote or co-wrote eight of the album's 13 tracks. Morris graduated high school and was attending the University of North Texas when she self-released her third full-length, 2011's Live Wire. A year later, she left Texas for Nashville, determined to shift her career into high gear.

After winning an "Artist on the Verge" prize at the New Music Seminar, Morris first got her foot in the door as a songwriter, signing a publishing deal with Yellow Dog and writing tunes for Tim McGraw ("Last Turn Home") and Kelly Clarkson ("Second Wind"). In addition, she ramped up her touring schedule, sharing stages with artists as diverse as Pat Green, Radney Foster, and Marty Stuart, and performing for artists in Europe and the United Kingdom as well as the United States. In 2015, Morris released a digital single titled "My Church," about the close connection between music and driving. The song became a viral hit, generating over 2.5 million streams in a bit longer than a month. The major labels in Music City took notice, and Morris signed a deal with Sony Music Nashville, who dropped a five-song EP featuring "My Church" in November 2015. Sony serviced "My Church" to country radio in anticipation of her full-length debut Hero, which appeared in June of 2016. The album hit number one on the country charts, and earned Morris a lot of attention: She was nominated for several Grammy awards, won CMA's New Artist of the Year, and earned a slot on Saturday Night Live late in 2016. During early 2017, she toured (both as a headliner and with Sam Hunt), and released a deluxe edition of Hero that included several bonus tracks. In October, Morris, in collaboration with Vince Gill, delivered the powerful single "Dear Hate," which was written in response to the mass shooting at Las Vegas' Route 91 Harvest Festival, a stage that she had played the night before that attack. - iTunes

Grey

Brothers Kyle and Michael Trewartha make up Los Angeles-based EDM/dance-pop duo Grey. Initially anonymous, Grey first appeared in 2015 with a series of remixes of tracks by Zedd, Kaskade, and Jack Ü that combined atmospheric guitars with sharp, startling synth riffs. The duo sent their remixes to Skrillex, who brought them to the attention of Zedd, who reposted them, gaining Grey thousands of followers. The duo's breakout year arrived in 2016, as "Starving" (their collaboration with Zedd and singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld) became a massive hit across the globe. This was followed by "Adrenaline," a more adventurous track that was also co-produced by Zedd. In 2017, the duo teamed with Swedish alt-pop singer Skott for "Crime." - Wikipedia
