It certainly confused me as well. I wonder if they'll be any more revolutions over this e.g. more stories coming out about this.

Kenya's half marathon world record holder Abraham Kiptum has been suspended from competition following an athlete biological passport violation.

 

The 29-year-old had been due to compete in Sunday's London Marathon.

Castor Semenya won the 800m at the Doha Diamond League following losing that case against the IAAF over them limiting testosterone levels in female runners.

Dina Asher-Smith took an impressive win in the Doha Diamond League meeting with a world leading time of 22.36 seconds. Providing she stays injury-free. I'm sure she'll be a medal contender at the World Athletics Championship.

Eliud Kipchoge will attempt to break the two-hour marathon barrier in the Ineos 1:59 Challenge later this year.

 

The Kenyan, 34, holds the world record of two hours one minute 39 seconds but this attempt would not be an official record as he will be assisted by in-out pacemakers.

 

He clocked 2:00.25 in a similar unofficial event in Italy in 2017.

 

The location and date for the challenge is yet to be confirmed, but it will take place in September or October.

BBC also has coverage of the Great Manchester Run on Sunday. I’m guessing that the Manchester street racing event is now defunct, was usually part of a weekend double bill with the GMR.

Noah Lyles beat US team-mate Christian Coleman by 0.006 seconds in the men's 100m at the Diamond League in Shanghai.

 

Lyles, 21, won in a photo finish with a personal best of 9.86 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year.

 

South African Akani Simbine was third, ahead of last year's winner Reece Prescod, the Briton clocking 9.97secs.

The former head of Kenya's track and field team has been banned from athletics for 10 years.

 

An IAAF ethics panel found Major Michael Rotich agreed to give advance notice of drugs tests to athletes and coaches for financial gain.

 

It said the "purpose of the agreement" was to "assist those athletes to flush their systems of banned substances before taking doping tests".

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith says she gained in "confidence" and "self-belief" following her 2018 success.

 

The 23-year-old won triple European gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in Berlin in August, following relay gold and 200m bronze at the Commonwealth Games in April.

 

She will race the 100m for the first time this season at the Rome Diamond League meet on Thursday.

Briton Goldie Sayers will belatedly receive her 2008 Olympic javelin bronze medal in front of a home crowd at next month's Muller Anniversary Games.

 

Russian Mariya Abakumova was stripped of silver in 2016 after a reanalysis of a sample from the Beijing Games tested positive for an anabolic steroid.

 

Her medal ceremony will take place at London Stadium on 20 July.

Caster Semenya says athletics' world governing body "used" her like "a human guinea pig" by insisting she takes medication to control her testosterone.

 

 

"I will not allow the IAAF to use me and my body again," "The IAAF used me in the past as a human guinea pig to experiment with how the medication they required me to take would affect my testosterone levels," added Semenya.

 

"Even though the hormonal drugs made me feel constantly sick, the IAAF now wants to enforce even stricter thresholds with unknown health consequences.

 

"I am concerned that other female athletes will feel compelled to let the IAAF drug them and test the effectiveness and negative health effects of different hormonal drugs. This cannot be allowed to happen."

Eliud Kipchoge's second attempt to break the 2-hour marathon barrier will take place in Vienna.

 

It is provisionally scheduled for 12 October.

Just watched the highlights of the Diamond League in Prefontaine. Nice to see Hughes, Muir and Asher-Smith finish Top 3 in their races (even if the latter was aiming for higher), Hassan and Duplantis looked very strong as well.
