Posted January 3, 20196 yr This usually goes in the indie forum, though it does let you vote for a few dance and rap tracks also. You can now vote in the annual poll, and the results will be revealed on 27th January as is the new tradition. My Hottest 100 votes (most of which no doubt won't make the hottest 100): Au/Ra & CamelPhat - Panic Room deadmau5 - Monophobia {Ft. Rob Swire} Disclosure - Ultimatum {Ft. Fatoumata Diawara} Disclosure - Where Angels Fear To Tread Drake - God's Plan Drake - Nice For What Duke Dumont - Inhale {Ft. Ebenezer} Dynoro & Gigi D’Agostino - In My Mind FISHER - Losing It Post Malone - Psycho {Ft. Ty Dolla $ign} I think these are reasonably safe bets to make it in, and I think FISHER is headed for the top 10 despite not even having made the ARIA Chart. I could even possibly imagine Dynoro getting in just by virtue of being a big chart hit even though it's pretty much never been played by the station, "rockstar" & "Feel It Still" made the top 30 last year the same way. I plumped for: Bene - Soaked BROCKHAMPTON - BOOGIE Courtney Barnett - Need A Little Time Grimes - We Appreciate Power (feat. HANA) Mitski - Geyser Moaning Lisa - Carrie (I Want A Girl) Olympia - Star City Owl Eyes - On Me Sarah Blasko - A Shot Wafia - I'm Good
January 3, 20196 yr I don’t even know what to vote for tbh, does anything look like a top contender to win yet? Last year everyone kinda expected Humble to be top 2 at least but there doesn’t seem to be anything huge from 2018. Maybe This Is America could be top 10 but I can’t see it winning
January 3, 20196 yr I'm assuming Ocean Alley will take it. They're not really for me but "Confidence" is okay. Childish Gambino pretty much ruined his chances when he canceled his tour but I'm guessing he'll be top 3 next to Amy Shark's cover of "I Knew You Were Trouble."
January 4, 20196 yr My votes, probably forgot a few big ones but I tried to pick out some of my faves from 2018 which actually have a shot to be top 200 at least Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes Khalid - Suncity {Ft. Empress Of} Billie Eilish - when the party's over Drake - In My Feelings Drake - Nice For What Birds Of Tokyo - Unbreakable Hilltop Hoods - Leave Me Lonely Duke Dumont - Inhale {Ft. January 19, 20196 yr I'm assuming Ocean Alley will take it. They're not really for me but "Confidence" is okay. Childish Gambino pretty much ruined his chances when he canceled his tour but I'm guessing he'll be top 3 next to Amy Shark's cover of "I Knew You Were Trouble." I feel like Ocean Alley has it in the bag too, by far the best betting odds too plus on Reddit etc. it's on a hell of a lot of peoples lists (I know that's a certain demographic but it still has a big show)
January 22, 20196 yr Voting is closed now! Here's mine: A$AP Rocky - Praise The Lord (Da Shine) {Ft. Skepta} Bene - Soaked Flight Facilities - All Your Love {Ft. Dustin Tebbutt} Halsey - Without Me Kendrick Lamar & SZA - All The Stars King Princess - 1950 Maggie Rogers - Light On Mumford & Sons - Guiding Light Post Malone - Psycho {Ft. January 26, 20196 yr Okay so I'm just now realizing the countdown is tomorrow not today?? Thought it was designated as the fourth Saturday in January and didn't realized they changed it again this year. I was in a panic over being an hour late tuning in and it turns out I'm 23 hours early :')
January 26, 20196 yr That is the plan, but it's safe to assume that they shifted it intentionally this year to avoid having it on Australia Day, since that was the whole reason it was changed last year. Not sure what they'll do next year when it falls on a Sunday and the 101-200 list is due to fall on that day. Anyone not in Australia can hear it from 1am GMT on the 27th via this link Edited January 26, 20196 yr by Dircadirca
January 26, 20196 yr The Hottest 200 next year will probably be broadcast on the Monday after Australia Day just like it is this year I’d think
January 27, 20196 yr I don't have any interest in Indie, Hip-Hop and Electronic music that triple j plays (I'm more of a pop music fan), but I can't wait to listen to the Hottest 100 tonight. So many interesting tracks out there - I believe most of them have a commercial feeling to them but they have a lot of creativity and innovation. -Anton

January 27, 20196 yr Meh, not fussed on that Confidence song at all. Losing It, This Is America, I Said Hi, Be Alright and When The Party's Over top 10 thoguh <3 Great to see Wafia almost there too, what a bop.
January 27, 20196 yr Author Never heard of Ocean Alley but I imagine they must be somewhat big in Australia then. Will take a listen to the winning track sometime. Pleased to see Losing It as high as 2nd, even with him being Australian I wasn't sure he'd go that high.
January 27, 20196 yr lol I kind of hate Ocean Alley and I've been dreading their bland takeover for like 9 months but this is some of the most fun I've had listening to the countdown in years. That's partly for personal reasons but also because I deliberately avoided spoilers which I usually indulge in every year, and it means when you get to around #40 you know every song coming up and it's not fun in the same way. So hearing Wafia all the way in the top 15 was an unexpected delight <3 Top 10 was really interesting too, Dean & Amy's CHR radio hits weren't frustratingly high and there was so much stuff that feels like it never polls that high. Mallrat & Ruby Fields in the top 10 is wild! SICKO MODE & Losing It was an absolute party for 9 minutes straight. Also was soooo happy Bene & "BOOGIE" got in. Thought they could go either way and miss out for being too new and too old respectively. So many great moments today.
