February 25, 20196 yr adam you might wanna change your flag because Ukraine is cancelled for the time being
February 25, 20196 yr I hope the artist they do send doesn't get hate and loads of shit, it isn't whoever they end up sending's fault that Maruv isn't going to Eurovision but I know that some Eurofans can be a bit OTT and probably won't see it that way... The other 3 acts in the top 4 have apparently said no to replacing Maruv, hopefully the broadcaster just withdraws and pisses off bc they don't even deserve to be in the contest acting like this.
February 25, 20196 yr The other 3 acts in the top 4 have apparently said no to replacing Maruv Someone get Daz Sampson on the phone
February 25, 20196 yr Ukraine doing a full 2010/2011 throwback selection process - what an absolute mess. Tayanna to swoop in as a last minute internal selection?
February 26, 20196 yr Furious. I'm obsessed with this right now, would've easily been in my top 5 of the year, if not higher.
February 26, 20196 yr Sounds like Maruv wasn't happy with the contract at all based on her Facebook posts, and good on her because if true, what the broadcaster was demanding sounds ridiculous. Almost hope they withdraw now, they're rumoured to be considering that.
February 26, 20196 yr Almost hope they withdraw now, they're rumoured to be considering that.if they’re gonna act like babies then I hope they never come back
February 26, 20196 yr Apparently she's not bothered about cancelling tours in Russia but it was having to perform at the broadcaster's will for free at any event . Odd given that the Poroshenko block and its allies are meant to be representative of a liberal, 'European' Ukraine.
February 26, 20196 yr So basically none of the other acts that placed highly are willing to accept the ticket to Tel Aviv so they're either going to A) pick a new artist entirely as an internal selction - rendering the whole process a giant waste of time B) do a re-run of the selection show like they did in 2010/2011 which there's probably very little time for and the likes of Freedom Jazz and KAZKA would pull out of C) pull out and incur a fine from the EBU
February 26, 20196 yr Is there no chance of a D) backtracking and taking back all these ridiculous requests for MARUV so she just ends up representing them after all?
February 26, 20196 yr Author STB the private broadcaster who organise Vidbir on behalf of UA:PBC are, understandably, pissed at the whole situation and are probably going to pull funding for the national selection next year. A mess.
February 27, 20196 yr It is confirmed that Freedom Jazz and KAZKA (2nd and 3rd place respectively) have rejected the chance to represent Ukraine this year. UPD: Brunettes Shoot Blondes did the same. Edited February 27, 20196 yr by photografdemon
February 27, 20196 yr How to go from selecting a potential winner to withdrawing from the contest in a cloud of chaos in 3 days, well done all involved
February 27, 20196 yr I hope they will return in some (probably not near) future when they become friends with their minds again.
February 27, 20196 yr Author Ukraine is one of my favourite countries at Eurovision so I'm really sad it has come to this. What an ugly mess.
February 27, 20196 yr tbh, I'm glad they're out. The way they've acted has been a total mess and embarrassment.
