Posted January 14, 20196 yr This is looking to be another year I swing back to indie and rock being more prominent in what I like as my second #1 of 2019 is, just like the first, by a band. Imagine Dragons get their first leader with Zero; a song I wasn't too enthralled by at first but which proved to be a decent grower. With the rise of Tonight Alive we actually have an all-bands top 3 this week, with indie also repped by Foster the People, the Fickle Friends-esque Swimming Girls, Beck, Best Youth, and Little Dragon whose Lover Chanting re-peaks into the top ten on its second chart run. This week also sees a flood of new entries and the beginning of a Little Mix takeover as they debut three tracks at once this week. LM5 has really been a fave since getting it at Xmas. A few of the christmassy tracks still stick about but are pushed out by many new ones this week, including entries from Kesha, Kiiara, Heart, Christina Aguilera and Avril Lavigne. (What throwbacks!)
