YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.

2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range

3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)

4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.

5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.

6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

Wonder if Ariana will overtake TGS - I'm sure it'll be a decent seller between now and the summer especially on streaming?

Can see TGS slowing down now!!

Seems to be likely I would think. Especially if she has more singles and promo in the pipeline. Then again at her current work rate I'm fully anticipating that she'll have another album in the can before the year is out!

No way. Hugh Jackman is opening the Brits next week with 'The greatest show' he is also on tour this year doing a lot of Greatest Showman songs one would assume.

Also I don't think the film has had its non Sky debut yet. Surely a BBC 1 or ITV premier will happen at some point this year.

I'd say it will be the biggest selling album of the year again unless that Adele album is released or Ed drops an album.

Westlife are setting up to be huge in Q4 imo! Adele set to come too I would think!!

Even with the Brits boost it'll be for a month max imo - the nonsky showing of the film will likely be on BBC this Xmas day so won't have a big effect imo!

I would have thought Easter would be a perfect time for BBC or ITV to show the film.

Also the album hasn't dropped under 17k so far this year, it's still shifting loads of copies.

You have to think Hugh will do promo before the tour hits the UK too.

Let's see what Ariana is doing week 3/4 before jumping to conclusions sweetener opened big 40/50k I think but has only got to 220k overall, I could see TUN passing TGS but the latter crawling back ahead if Ariana slows down quick

Ed is only releasing a "collection of songs" this year, so I don't know if it would count as an album

is there the singles list for this one?

There used to be, but unfortunately the various conversion rates of streams now makes one impossible to calculate. :(

Just another thing as well re: Ed Sheeran. He is starring in and doing some new songs for the soundtrack of Richard Curtis' new film 'Yesterday' which is based around/inspired by The Beatles and is in cinemas at the end of June. The trailer for it actually looks really good - Lily James who was in Mamma Mia 2 is in it as well so there's a chance it could do a Bohemian Rhapsody / A Star Is Born type performance in the chart!
