March 2, 20196 yr Author The more singles before the album, the better in this day and age. Post album singles don't work as well as pre album singles for a band like Westlife. And it's so refreshing to see Westlife doing this after many artists release just 1 or 2 (at a push) singles. It's definitely a more traditional way of doing things and if those dates are to be believed, then that's perfect strategic timing.
March 2, 20196 yr I agree post album singles doesn't work anymore but they might try just like the old days. These kinds of answers to their interviews that has been released just now is to reassure their fans especially the old ones that they are back. Some of their old fans are worried they might be dropped because of the number 13 peak in the UK but to me they are doing really well based on their streaming numbers for an old act and for an act that doesn't have the American audience.

Worrying about them being dropped is silly, especially since they sold out their tour. I think releasing more singles is a great way to keep promoting the album, it doesn’t matter how the actual singles are doing. I don’t think 14th September is a correct date though because that falls on Saturday. But September/October release would be good.
March 2, 20196 yr This second single might have been part of a double lead single but never been allowed because it will divide their views. This fast single release isn't new for the band either, I remember the little gap between the release of Against All Odds and My Love and What Makes a Man and You Raise Me Up and When You Tell Me. Also this time they are more in control. They said in an interview the label ask them what do they want.
March 2, 20196 yr They had a huge support since their comeback there is no doubt about it. And i don't consider it a flop at all. As a matter of fact with Hello My Love run and sales it should have charted higher, but it just didn't happen. Now it's up to them to maintain those levels high and gain new fans.
March 2, 20196 yr If I were Westlife, they should release the album after a fourth single. Based on their history, I Have a Dream and Uptown Girl (technically) were the most successful singles from Westlife and Coast to Coast eras in UK and both were fourth releases. they might also put a cover on the album for the sales but they will put it as a bonus track or on the last part or no covers at all and they will break the tradition. maybe it will be a 12-track album with bonuses in Japan and Germany. They should not repeat what they did on their 1999 debut where they only released three singles before the album and premiere only at #2 and get beaten by Steps by a thousand copies The 2nd single will be interesting because it will be their first since 2007 to have a second, follow-up single for an album and first since 2003 to have a second single before an album release. If this will be released by the end of March so the song that they performed on Mrs. Browns was the new single which was also said to be out this month? Edited March 2, 20196 yr by myxxd

Also the March release, their model might be Take That's Patience (Nov) and Shine (Feb). Might still be April based on the gap we saw but they will skip the April 12 special date that they always tend to do. They don't want double celebrations based on my observations following them over the years. Also They want to confuse and don't give everyone the exact dates easily, that's their style now. Well Hello my love didn't reach #1 overall because like the others said they sabotaged themselves lol after the graham performance they became the most downloaded single of the day but it became less and less because they literally have no TV promo after that compared to the old days. I think it's because they don't want the watchers to get tired of them and saving it to their album release week. Also they didn't push it too hard because if it became number one at least on Ireland, fans will be more relaxed on their next singles by just downloading and not pushing themselves into streaming and in effect it will cut the band's dreams to break into streaming, the future of music. They already know what the next single will be but not the third single maybe they will observe what kind of sound will be more successful for them on the charts. Kian said he is hoping it will be an uptempo one. Edited March 2, 20196 yr by myxxd
March 2, 20196 yr #19 Sales, Downloads #12 Ireland, Scotland #55 audio streams #10 physical from #4 last week
March 2, 20196 yr Author Yeah HML is not a flop. No one can say that it is. If they do, they're just trolling.
March 3, 20196 yr HML has exceeded my expectations by an incredible amount and just shows with the correct promotion / campaign that a returning act could have success still. I truly hope it continues picking up on Spotify but its chart run has been v v impressive.
March 3, 20196 yr Author When is Mrs Brown's on? They recorded a performance or something for that I believe.
March 3, 20196 yr New spotify peak #56 101k That's really amazing!! can we top last week's sales and avoid ACR?
March 3, 20196 yr I was just thinking about the Brits and how it would be nice if they get a nomination next year after the album gets released - or maybe a EMA nomination. I don't expect them to win considering they only won 2 Brits andd 1 EMA in the early days but who knows. A performance would be nice as well, that Uptown Girl performance at the Brits back in 2001 was cool. Edited March 3, 20196 yr by zeze88
