Hoping to see plenty of Dave in the charts today, one of the most well-written records of the year so far.

The new chart isn't out yet but I'm looking at the numbers on Desktop for Dave's album tracks and it looks like he's really going to dominate. Streatham and Disaster have well over 500k listens, and most of them are probably from the UK.

If Apple Music is anything to go by it looks like Black will get starred out and won't be able to re-peak officially sadly.

Would be good to see him get a couple of top ten debuts officially!

I guess you could turn this into a 'streaming' thread that tracks Spotify and AM?

That's probably the best idea, though I'll keep this titled as the Spotify thread for now as that's what gets the most discussion.

I’m glad P!nk is doing well. I don’t like her new song as much as her others though. She needs to release the music video asap

What about YT streams? Also interesting imo

besides Spotify and apple

(would people be interested in an AM thread or should we just track interesting AM movements here?)

As we've seen in recent weeks Spotify position's don't have as much of an influence on an end chart position as they used to due to increased competition so think that'd be a great idea. Playlists seem to have less influence on Apple as well so it's always more interesting as well.

How long is the occ gonna continue with the double counting? If people are streming daves album

It should only count for the album charts

Not both singles and albums

Spotify losing its dominance of the charts is down to the change in rules so paid for streams count more than free. Apple music and Amazon music are subscription only aren't they so every stream is a paid for stream.

You can get a free trial on Apple Music, those streams would only count for 600/1200

Not both singles and albums

The top two most streamed tracks are averaged out as outliers so streams of them don't affect both charts. The 4th and below most popular tracks don't get included on the singles chart, so they don't affect both charts. Only the 3rd most popular track affects both, and on the album chart it's effectively an average of the 3rd through 10th tracks. So yes, 1 track on the album gets 1.125x counted across the two charts, heaven forbid.
